Whats the Maximum Map Size for Bnet? So far mines up to about 3.2 mbs...i think thats a little to much... |

I always thought B.net maximum was 3 megs but I think I proved that wrong at some point... the real problem with size is the time it takes to download. |

Well I still can do alot with my map...I can still stick alot more Custom icons in there...But who would want to play a 4 mb 10 player arena on bnet....?! Meh maybe ill just cut back on some of the skins... |

Its 4mb. I talked to a b.net admin and they are considering changing it to 5mb, but not until after WoW is released and the wc3 servers slow down a little bit. |

Nonetheless, I recommend you don't let it get larger than 1.00 mb. Compress your .blp's and assess your models for whether they're needed. Remove DIS icons (cleverly so as to avoid the green square). |

If i remove the Disabled Icons the green square will appear...is there a way to have it not appear without the dis icons?? I updated my map a little with some icons for mostly just...items...and now its about 3.9 mbs...i think i should just limit the heros from 20 to about 14?...but then again...all ther heros are really cool...DAMN IT ALL TO HELL! |

I have a feeling you don't use loops. |

I use loops, You try importing 16 skins, and about 100 icons (50 BTN/50DISBTN) |

You should have no problem compressing the .blp files of your icons down to 3 or 4 k at most. As far as the DIS icons, if you change all your active icons to have the same name (but different paths) and import one DIS icon under that name, it'll save tons of space. For example, icons: Cat\BTNIcon.blp Dog\BTNIcon.blp Pants\BTNIcon.blp ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\DISBTNIcon.blp |

What?? That makes no sense...And how do i compress my BLP files? |

Sense or not to you, try it. You see, the path of icons is not absolute, but the relative path of the DIS button is always in the same place. Thus, you can make multiple imported custom icons use one imported DIS icon, or you could even make them use existing applicable DIS icons, which is what I do. |
