Either use WEU and import a 1024x768 picture, or cut that picture up into four smaller pieces (2x 512 by 512, 2x 256 by 512) and import them over an existing loading screen. Hope this helps |

Mezzer, I think that's what he knows how to do already, I believe he is asking how to get a picture instead of a map preview. I believe that is done by replacing some file (the map preview picture) with a custom picture, but what the file name is and what kind of size/format of picture must be used when replacing it I know not. |

I thought so but I wasn't sure that's what he meant. In that case all he has to do is: 1. Create the picture and save it using the image editor of your choice, the size should be 128x128. (I think) 2. Convert it to .tga format (note, some free image editors such as ImageForge seem to make tga files that WC3 doesn't like - upside down and in funny colours) 3. Import the image in the import manager of the campaign editor 4. Under the "general" tab in the campaign editor and under the "minimap" section, choose "imported file" and select the tga you imported. Of course this only works if your map is a campaign (.w3n), I'm not sure how to do this for a single .w3x or even .w3m fle. The file will be a lot smaller than the file you imported for the loading screen, as it's only 128x128. The last one I used was only 48k (enough RAM to run state of the art games in 1984!) Hope that's useful, sorry I don't know how to do it for a single map but I'm sure someone here does if that's what you're after. |

Guest | Import your .tga image; in the imports manager, change the imported file path to war3mappreview.tga . The image should be 256x256, 24 bits, uncompressed. The size will be 192Kb. Don't know if a 128x128 image could work too, never tried. Salutions® |

Sorry, I misunderstood you, what Mara.Jade said should work, and yes you can use a 128x128 image, it will work, but it will look crapy, so go with the 256x256 |

Well if it's a high-res digital photo then it will but it depends on the level of detail. If filesize is important then a 128x128x16bit image will just about quater the size and thanks Mara.Jade, I always wondered how to do that to a standalone map. |
