A {Probably} Simple Question

O.k. This Is Probably A Simple Question But It Has Me Confused. I'm Making An Rpg Style Map And Have A Weapon System Where The Model Shows Up With The Unit And I Have Alphed Out Weapons On Most Of The Units So It Makes For A Good Clean Effect, But I Would Like To Make It So That Any Unit Can Be Ranged When A Bow Is Equipped. My Main Question Is If There Is A Way To Change The Range Of The Units Melee Attack Or Just To Change The Attack Used Altogether. {Attack - 1 Or Attack - 2} The Fist Way Would Simply Allow Me To Give The Unit A Spere Based Spell That Has Arrow Missle Art When Equipped And The Second Way I Would Just Have To Give The Unit Two Attacks Having 1 Be The Melee And 2 Being The Ranged. If Anyone Can Help It Is Greatly Appreciated And If Not Thanks For At Least Hearing Me Out. I'm Quite Impressed With This Site And The Forums Saying As How Many Questions Are Answered And In Polite Ways. {Mostly} I Figured Someone Has To Have An Answer.

Just make the second attack of the unit ranged, and set it to "Attack 1 only", then add a modified orb item ability to it by triggers.

You could also make 2 of the same unit but 1 with a ranged attack and when the guy picks up a bow, it replaces the unit and selects the new one.

that will be very annoying. couse you will have to make some vars. extra and then set all items to a var and give them to the new hero, and the same for level and skills

for most things like this where any stat needs to be changed. i do it the no-fail way and just use beserker as a base upgrade and make 2 units. its not tedious and you can trig it when ever you want.

there was such a question kinda a week ago...

somebody posted that it would be easiest to give the units the chaos ability and make one meele the other one range. make choas researched and add it or remove it from the unit when you want.

i don't know if this works the same way as bersek upgrade but i think both should do.

I Did The Chaos Ability Way And Made The Second Unit That Would Have The Ranged Attack But When The Hero Picks Up The Triggering Item The Game Closes Out. The Triggers I Have Are As Follows :
