How does exponential fog work?

Hey Guys, the question really speaks for itself... I came across Phoenixes shot in the Art Gallery and one of DungeonM, and since it apparently only takes 5 minutes to do, I wondered how it works? Thx

my understanding is: exponential fog doesn't work. all the matters is start and end points and color. density doesn't matter either.

Exponential fog is just used to color everything but the sky basically. Just mess around with it, you'll get it figured out.
