Finished the first TToR music track. It's the ingame music for troll, on of em that is. I don't think it feels that finished so if you got any feedback, it's always welcome. http://race.wc3campaigns.com/Troll1.mp3 |

Guest | The strings and drums were great. But I wasn't digging the bass. Sounded too Fruity Loopish or cartoonish. It definitly had a Warcraft militaristic feel to it. The second part after that was pretty good too, but I feel the whole thing might need it's tempo lowered. By the way, the "ja mon Jamaican trolls" aren't that different from the Forest Trolls of WCII. Essentially, one's from Jamaica and the other is from Cuba. They're not exactly that far off the map. Same with the Haitian witch doctors. If you want to get a more authentic feel, try listening to some traditional Cuban music. |

As said, I was aiming for Warcraft 2 feeling to it, and Warcraft 2 had quite hasty music. And in wc2 the trolls didn't talk cuban or something at all, they were more angry bad english talking instead. Much better IMO. |

When I listened to it, before I read your post, I felt it had a very WcII-ish feeling, exactly the kind of music they had, it was so excellent (it's very rare that games have such a good music as WcII, it corresponded the game so perfectly, excellent quality, too bad computer sounds weren't that great by then... at times it even felt it could have been written by Bach... well, rarelly, only for short parts...) |

Hmmm... hmmm... Alright here is feedback: As background/ambience music this is a bit fast paced. Might be your intention. Now I like the stuff really, but you need to do some serious post editing here. It needs some echos and reverbs to take the "edge" off it. That slight midi feel, because it is afterall midi based. :) PS: Glad to see your starting to do it :) I am still very tied up with my internship. |

I'll see what I can do. Reason got some nice built in reverb boxes that I will try to connect the sampler too and see what happens. I can also edit it a bit in wavelab but i'm not a master at that. I will see what I can do though. |
