When I make a ramp from the terrain palette, sometimes there are these really ugly and visually annoying squared off shadows at the bottom. Then at the edges it's really light. What causes this, and how do I deal with it? I tried calculate shadows and save, but that didn't help. It might have made it worse. Thanks in advance. |

Guest | I am having the same problem with my own map. It is hard to describe without visuals, but it has to do with the promptness (or rather abruptness) of some of the ramps. Ramps need space and sometimes, especcialy when it comes to cliffs rather than walls, a ramp simply hasn't got enough space to flow to a higher or lower level. I always make sure that the entire ramp neatly flows to a different level. I do this by setting the cliff to + or - 1 level and the size to 1. Then I click near the ramp and check whether it does what I want it to do. As I said it's very hard to explain without graphics, but just test a little bit with what I said above. I think you can determine the effect for yourself. Good luck! |

What I do is keep smoothing the terrain by clicking my mouse about 100 times. Works like a charm.... |
