Guest | Hi, I'm quite new to Warcraft3 World Editing. I've the following problem. I tried to make a Mass Sleep spell this evening with the Object Editor in the TFT World Editor. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to start from the sleep spell and make it an area of effect spell. Is there any tool, some kind of spell editor, that makes this possible? I was able to make Mass Sleep with Lord Vexorian's Caster System, but before I decide to code all my spells this way(Triggered), I want to be sure there is no other way. In terms of readability(Spells grouped by spells) and work, a tool which would just add spells to the object editor seems to me like a better choice. So, is there one? |

No, you can't make a mass sleep without a trigger, there is no tool for that, iand t is very simple to do this with triggers. |

Guest | just take any sleep spell, put cast rabge to 0, and AoE to 9999. should work. |

The_Black_Mage, that's rabid misinformation. For Pete's sake, check out your idea before you go spitting it out. Rafael Br pointed out that exactly the opposite of what you said is the case. |

I HIGHLY reccommend you get acquanted with triggers because eventually you will need them. Heres what i would do, base the spell off cluster rockets with no damage, projectile etc. You could base it off just sleep but it looks more professional when you show the "selection" circle. Then do a trigger like this: Event: Unit begins casting a spell Condition: Casted spell equal to Mass Sleep Action: Pick every unit in playable map area matching condition: matching unit has mass sleep buff <br> Create 1 sleeper for neutral hostile Add generic 1.5 expiration timer for last created unit Order last created unit to use sleep on picked unit |

Take War Stomp, make it a wide area of effect, make it deal no damage, and change the stunned (paused) buff to the Sleep buff. For targetable AOE, use Inferno, and make it summon an invisible dummy unit for 0.01 second. It can always be done, you just need to be inventive. :) |

The difference between stunning and sleep effects is that stunning is un-dispellable, which is a pretty significant aspect. |
