Detecting Evasion Activation

Alright, I've been looking on the forums for the answer to this simple question and figured I would just ask and save myself some time.

How do you detect when a passive ability like evasion "fires"? I haven't been able to find the event. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Uh, never thought of that. For Evasion in particular you could maybe check, when a unit attacks other, if attacked unit received damage or not, though I'm not really sure that will work. Ok, ok, I JUST DON'T KNOW!

You're both annoying. I did use search, and couldn't find any results. (Searched "detect evasion", "evasion activation", "critical strike activation", other similar searches). After spending 30 minutes reading threads that had nothing to do with my post, I put up a post hoping someone would point me in the right direction. A thing, please don't waste space with posts like your last one. I clearly mentioned in my post that I did search for relevant posts.

Anyway, thanks for your help Hunter, despite the needlessly rude format in which it was presented. I have, of course, read the FAQs in the past. I didn't remember that one of the questions to one of the FAQs dealt with my problem, and I hoped someone that spent more time here would help me out. I didn't realize it had become overrun by elitists who aren't willing to help someone without mocking them.

For anyone who reads this thread in the future, I was able to find something after I did a search for "Detect Bash". Apparently, there is no easy way to detect a success with these passive abilities , and if you want to do something like this you need to trigger the entire ability (ie using Dummy Units or by adding a temporary ability to the unit). I'm just going to revamp my ability from scratch, as I'm not interested in a possibly sloppy solution.

I notice many people declare Linkmaster's detect map as an actual way to detect evasion/bash/critical strike, while in fact it doesn't do that at all. There is no way to detect actual passive abilities fire, and that should be told first to anyone who asks if it can be done. Then, additionaly, you can say that the wanted effect can be achieved if you trigger the whole ability, like linkmaster did in his map.
