Guest | hello all i am the creater of selors dream, an upcoming campaign that goes through various maps done in diffrent styles (cinematics, rpg style, and multiplayer play) anyway my website can be found at www.selorsdream.tk. At the moment i am in need of a Jass triggerer a skinner/modeller (2 people if no one can do both) and i need someone who is good at music matching, post on the forums on my website under general discussion if you want to join, and remember to give some examples of your work The story (without giving too much away) is about a group of 4 people who find a place were magic was sealed away, by opening it they release a few demons. it is hard to give away any more since this is a book im going to write aswell, and i dont want to give too much of the plot away anyways please reply and check the website (if you like) and dont be shy to respond Selor |

Naturally, you will have to give more information out here as well. People don't know what this "campaign" is about, and not everyone wants to use a link to find out. That are the rules out here after all. |

Well, as far as you've said regarding the story it sounds extremely cliche... |

you can say this about most of the popular mods atm Dota is a cliche of Aoe's and footman frenzy, footman wars. cliches can be fun, if they are made well, and i have some really awsome ideas so join up if you like if you dont ill do it myself |

Aren't you the project leader? How can you *not* sign up? :\ True enough, most bad projects have cliche stories. Seeing as I'm a story writer myself, I am extremely annoyed by them. Footywars and stuff are only Bnet maps, and it is hard to say it has a story. RPG's, Cinematics and Campaigns in opposite of it though. Their first priority is a story, and nothing else. You'll be stuck to that. I have no interest of joining this, nor any other project. Seeing as I don't got the time, the interest and the reason to do it. The largest reason why I won't join is the fact that I still might be able to leave the wc3c forum at any moment. It just depends on something small... -Fladian |

Guest | Well this has turned into an argument lol First off most popular movies have exaclty the same base layout, boy meets girl boy loses girl boy gets girl back again, these movies raise a heck of a lot of money too. I have been working on the plot for this campaign for 5-6 months and have been adding twists and such, the thing i have mentioned is the base plot but not all of it since i dont want to give it away. I wish you good luck in finding time to start/join a project |

Maybe you might have worked months on it, but you really have to show something "special" then in the explanation, since like I said, it sounds extremely cliche. You also said that movies' stories are often too cliche, my answer for that: could be, but I stopped watching movies about 2 - 3 years ago, so I'm not really updated regarding that, by my own information that is. 5 - 6 Months might be considered long, but there are a heck of a lot people here who've spend more time on it then a few 5 - 6 months like that. I can easily give myself as an example as well. You wish *me* luck in finding time to start or join a project? Let me get this straight, I got more invitations then I can count to join a project - which I always refuse since I retired from modding about 1 1/2 years ago - and not just because I have a lack of time. I am still working on my own project, and am not really planning of giving up anytime soon. But then again, if luck stands on my side soon - definitely, soon - then I will release of what I got, and take my leave on the forum as well. Really, I am not in need of luck ^^ It is my own choice to spend all my time on something... else. -Fladian |
