Tutorial: Ramps Made Easy

I hate ramps there pain in the ass :P, so i was playing around witht them and figured out an ez way to make them, HOWEVER i dont recomend using them on terrains to show off, only for Battle.net maps. for everything else use the 85Â° cliff thing.

NOTE: if ur going to make ramps, ALWAYS make sure the cliff IS strait! (very important) also if u want a certain shape, make the cliff,(or in this case the river) BIGGER than u actually want it, then use the raise and lower tool to adjust the size u want, its not very hard

1st. step, make sure you can see the medium grid(hit "g" two times if it off)

2nd. put ur curson on the cross BEFORE the one of the cliff, like in this picture:

3rd. to in the direction u want the cliff, in this case to the left, until the ramp apears.

Thats it ^^ works every time

Now for corners, first make two ramps on both sides of the corners(like in the picture below), and then from the cross before the cliff(were the green cursur is in the picture) drag and FOLLOW the white line like i have in the picture, its Very important. it may not work the first time, so just repeat,should work nearly everytime.

well thats it, i hope this helps some people, as those ramps sure anoyed me for years.

iNfraNe	I have problem with the "inside" corner, it just wont come up with me, use have tips for that corner aswell? (if u understand what I mean with inside corner)

Murcielago)	for those make sure the sides are strait and not have ramps around it, do the coner first then do the other sides -Murcielago)

Beam	i might add that the ramps have to be at least 2 medium sized grid squares wide for there to be pathing. Also, if you have an inside corner that is less than three medium grid squared wide, the ramp won't work. I'll sticky this, since a lot of people have problems with ramps.

Guest	I've never had any troubles with ramps or retards.. I find it quite easy infact. Levelling the land near the sea is a real pain in the ass though =s

Metal_Sonic64	I find it much easier if u have an angled area, begin there before the straight, you can really mess up if u have angles and straight and want to go on to an angled area

angles are even worse than vertical or horizontal IMO, id rather just start off the map as shallow water

, the i find it ez er to do the corners first, sometimes they dont work well if theres other ramps around it

Mycklern	I guess this can be useful for retards, and it's a useful tutorial, because almost everyone at b.net are retards. They often mess ramps up making in look awful.

Voi	My problem with ramps isn't to get them look good. My problem is to make them come there at all. Everytime I use this horrible ramps some of the squares don't wanna be placed. I'll see if this tutorial can help me later on. I'm always so annoyed of those ramps!
