Marine Skins

I need several Marine skins that look decent and with icons for the game I am making. If you happen have a skin, an included icon would be appriciated.

Also, I remember somewhere in this site it showed how to use multiple skins on the same model. If you know where it is, please tell me, since I need it for the extra skins.

to have multiple skins of tyhe same model you must:
1 export the model, convert it to .MDL and open it with a text program.
2 scroll down untill you see textures, there is a path (marines path is: units\critter\marine\spacemarine)
3 change the path to whatever you like.
4 convert the .MDL back to .MDX and import it to a map.
5 now name the path of the skin like the path you have changed.
6 save, close and reopen the map.
7 give me a shiny rep point :p ^^

a hint for the future pappi.chullo save images as .jpgs not .bmps they take up too much space and majority of ppl dont like looking at .bmps have fun with ur future posting of pictures :stolen_emote:

One quick question, would editing a skin file on a basic image program like oh say... paint... mess up anything on the skin, such as the alpha channels?

I was thinking of making my own skins using paint, but I'm not too sure if it will come out bad.

I dont see how it should affect the masking layer, but why paint? It's a pretty lame program for that, well just curious.... and good luck with project! ^_^

Paintshop pro (7 or 8) is best carryover from paint, it's easy to use and quite good for skinning.

it is best that you just get photoshop, legal or illegal.

About the photoshop - I already downloaded the trial version a few months ago, so it won't run again. I downloaded a different art program (Jasc's Animation Shop Pro 3) like a year ago, and downloaded it today. I was shocked to see that it would run, and it was bugged as well. Would using it be illigal or a mistake by Jasc? ;)
