read them again, they tell exactly what you should do.

and if you want to skin your self made model, you have to unwrap the model first. go to the model forum for more info.

Requirements
>>> Photoshop (Or any other paint program just not ms paint)
Get it at download.com and search it, make sure you don't get photoshop live, thats for html editing.
>>> Warcraft 3 viewer (Found at war3sear.ch)
>>> this is optional >> A file convertor (Found at war3sear.ch)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Step One
>>> Open the Viewer and Click on blp not mdx one the treeview.
(Mdx is models you want Skins so we use blp.)
Step Two
>>> Search for the unit you want, it might be under textures, or you can search it in the search.
Step Three
>>> Right click the Unit you want then click save as or extract as (whatever there is.) Then put it in a file you will remember it in.
Step Four
>>> Open your paint program and select the unit texture you saved. (the one you want to skin.)
Step Five
>>> Edit your colors and whatever you need and then hit SAVE AS and change the name to like Unitsname Finished.
Step Six
>>> Go back to the viewer and open your FINISHED skin.
Step seven
>>> On the top you should see a thing that says extract current image click that then select the blah blah blah to BLP choose that then choose the Skin.
Step Eight
>>> Save it and import it!

Get all the conversion programs and start with a blizzard skin. Mess around with the brushes until you have a skin. Not much more to it than creativeness, inspiration, ability, and boredom.
