Tough bug

I recently made up a new map (called legions, been playing it on
useast with some friends). I used custom abilities for the map by
editing abilitydata.slk with excel and editing the
raceabilityfunc/string.txt files. I then used mpq2k to import the
files into the map so I could play online with my friends. Everything seemed to be working ok for a while (the first few
versions of it that I made worked fine) until I noticed some of the
triggers seemed to be malfunctioning. I also noticed that
sometimes my friends, and sometimes even me, wouldn't see the
altered spells in game. I had changed the icons on a few spells and their stats, but sometimes I would only be able to see the original unaltered spell data, even though my friends could see the custom stuff that I put in. I finally figured out that with the triggers it was somehow using old triggers even though I had removed them from the map. For example, I had a trigger that gave players 25 gold every 30 seconds, then I changed it to 125, but when I played the new version it would sometimes give only 25 gold. I still had the older version maps in my map dir (even though I wasn't actually using them) so I deleted them, with some success (the custom abilities showed up on my comp, but 1 of my friends still got the bug where he saw only the original stuff). But I am still getting the old amount of gold even though the trigger clearly states 125 gold and not 25. I also made sure to give each version a different name (like legions101, legions 102 etc, and the same with the map description).

ANY help would be appreciated. My visibility trigger is driving
me nuts (I had it working, but now it's not working again, it
somehow reverted to an older version of the trigger).

Im not 100% sure on this but try using default loading screen, that might be the problem, i have heard that it can cause ´malfunction.

if the file exists in the war3patch.mpq, it will overwrite the file in memory that is in your map, so abilitydata.slk along with many others do not work on battle modified unless everybody has the new edited file in thier war3patch.mpq file.

not with 1.04

with most files it looks in the map FIRST then patch then main.mpq

I'm having the same problem. I'll try the loading screen, but i doubt it will work.

Make your friends delete all the old copies of the map too. I think LAN play is glitchy with multiple copies.

The Problem with the original skill buttons and positions allways occurs after starting warcraft 3. The first time you play a map with warcraft the game doesnt load the new humanabilityfunc.txt, ...
Dont ask me why, its a bothering effect.
Start a second map and all changes will be available. If you then load a new version, the game will load the new *.txt files immidiatly.
Only the first game is the problem.
