Guest | Hi, Im generally against protection but recently someone who was in my server downloaded my beta. A little while later I get a pm from one of my beta testers saying that they where in my game... but some guy changed the name to him. Everything was the same, even my hero, he just changed the name to his on map description. Although this is pretty funny, it could become more serious, someone actually making the map looking like it was thiers and taking credit for my work. So my question is where can I get a worth while protection software? I heard rumours someone on this forum invented such a software but im not sure. Thanks Hunt PS: I am going to put an un-protected map on my server for thoose who want to learn. |

Well, you could take a look in the Editing Tools forum. I'm not sure if HeavyLock works for 1.17. I think I heard about Lord Vexorian putting together a program that protected maps. Otherwise, there are methods to protect your map that don't involve using any software, which require only that you replace certain files in your map archive to prevent WE from opening it. |

Use the W3M Map Utilities. This was available for download in the tools forum. This has several uses, which includes map protection for both w3m and w3x. |

vexorian did made a program that clears up all the junk files in you and can clear certain files required to open it in WE. all protection has ways around them, but regardless - you can try a few thats around. |
