Edit: We still need members! If you want to join the campaign, then PM me Survivors of the Cataclysm (Sotc) is a new campaign project I've been working on for a while... well, actually I came up with the idea a year ago, so I've thought about it for a while. Quote:
The campaign will consist of 9 maps and 3-4 interludes, feature costumized races and new spells, new skins/icons and perhaps even a model or two. I will be making the cinematics, the story and the dialogue, and a bit of terraining on some maps. My friend Juice_f will be making the skins and icons needed for the campaign. WorldWatcher will be making the spells. What we need are: -Terrainers (preferably those who have worked on the Outland tile before) -Triggerers -AI makers (who should be able to make AI for custom races, like the Draenei) -Spell creators (I have most of the spell ideas ready, but I need someone to trigger them for me) Are you interested? Then join the SotC team today! |

Ufo, don't bother saying, that's his nature. You'll come and live with it at a moment, and heck, maybe you'll even like him ;) You just need to understand his... kind of humor... Varulf, the story sounds decent but it might be a bit big to start off with. Seeing as people don't know you you might want to show some of your work to show you are not some starter people refuse to work with ;) In general, most jobs which you asked for, you and your friend are able to do it, right? These jobs are only to increase the speed of the progress? -Fladian |

I might be new to this site, but not in map-making. I've been map-making for quite some time and I'm even a part of another project at the forge. This is however my first project with a team involved and I haven't released any other maps. Juice_f's previous work can be found on wc3sear.ch, where he is a moderator (one of his skins even became a Directors choice) Quote:
But I do want people who can do these things better than I can. My triggering skills are very limited and as I said I can't do AI or trigger spells, so I can't do this project on my own. |

I knew Juice_F sounded familiar :P But then again, last time I visited wc3searc was by the time that Nature's Recall: Return of the Dragons was released :P Anyway, I heard multiple say before, "I've been new to this site but not to map making" and easily showed them that they were pretty wrong. Anyway, I remain to the words that most people here would enjoy it if you'd show some of your work. People would like to know who they're dealing with. I know what you mean regarding triggers -_- I've put my own project on hold because of the annoying triggers I have yet to add (dialogs)... *sigh* It's not like it are hard triggers, it is more that there are so many... anyway, I'm rambeling again. *rumble* About time that I'd fetch myself somethin' to eat... -Fladian |

Varulf has been on www.warcraftiii.net for over a year. so he's no noob. |

warcraftiii.net... hehe... that brings me back memories. I reckon that both of you never saw the words flying about warcraftiii.net in the Warcraft III discussion forum when it still existed :P Those weren't good words :p Even so he might have sticked there for a year, for all I would mind he would've been there for 5 years, that doesn't say he is necessarily skilled. Even though I improved over time out here on wc3c doesn't say that anyone who was here as long as me have improved just as much. I mean, take a look at Elfy as example, (no offense Elfy, it's just that you're the first I can remember with an early date :P) he didn't increase in skill *that* much overtime out here on wc3c. And he's been here about as long as I am :P -Fladian |

Guest | I could help. I guess my current specialty is triggering, spellmaking and ai, although i am getting better with terraining every day. Maybe you could give me a little task, which i could try to complete. You can then decide whether you can use me or not. I am a noob on WC3 modding though ^^ But I have a lot background to fall back on to (on storywriting, programming, semiprofessional 3d-modelling and drawing). Oh and Fladian, would reusable functions help for all those triggers, or are they all really that different? EDIT: I knew I forgot something. Didnt Teron Gorefiend follow Nerzhul into the Twisting Nether? I recall having read that somewhere. I'll try to look it up. |

WorldWatcher, I think you can better focus on one subject instead of them all ;) It'll be best I guess. I completely focussed on terraining, but because I had some mental breakdowns I lost my touch, and started paying mostly interest to triggers. Right now it'll be best to focus on one thing fully ;)... feel free not to do it, but that is my opinion. As regarding the thing meant for me, no, I cannot repeat the same triggers seeing as they are all different. I'll give an example. The project which I am working on, you're able to enter dialog (aka. talk with people) with people. Because of that I need to make multiple triggers because not every is supposed to say the same thing. Now, that really isn't hard to do, it doesn't take *TOO* long either, but what is taking so much of my time when I'm working on it. The personalities of the characters play quite a role. When I say "personalities" I mean as an example, jealousy, love, hate, etc. With other words, if you talk a lot with the same person, it is clear that some of the other people will get jealous and may even start a hate regarding the other person. I heard people say, "that's impossible to do" but I can back up my words with, "I've already done half way" ...a bit too much of what I wanted to say actually... -Fladian |

Ner'zhul would later be captured within the Twisting Nether by Kil'jaeden and the Burning Legion. Whether or not Gorefiend was with him is not known. Task? Well, have you made and spells? Any maps that you triggered or AIed? If so, sent them this way. Otherwise, I'll give you a spell you could try to trigger. |

Guest | From my (unofficial) source: Quote:
To this source, it is not known whether Gorefiend was with Ner'zhul when he was captured(like the Ogre Dentarg) by Kil'Jaeden, but it is known that he fled Draenor. No, I cant send you anything. I messed around a lot and learned the Jass API, but didnt finish most spells I was trying(many seem to be impossible to, like changing the tooltip of the manacost depending on level). What I finished where things I am going to use myself later on, so I prefer to not send them. But it were things like an Aura that gives surrounding enemy units a negative buff, mass sleep, pacify and teleport enemy unit to his nearest townhall. I also made all special items of http://www.student.kuleuven.ac.be/~m9916318/items.html As for AI, I made a small one to try stuff out for a mission of my own, and I seem to be understanding it quite well. So please give me a task, some spells or a little ai, or something. |

Um... damn. Well, no campaign is 100 % canon, and this isn't such a spectacular change in the story. I PM'ed some spells for you to trigger. Good luck! |

Does nobody else want to join the campaign? If not, I guess I'll have to ask at another forum. |
