Hi! Im just starting on a simple new map I may call Minigames, basicly Capture The Flag style scenarios. Players are split into 2 teams, Orc and Human . At the moment there is the classic CTF and Assault, where one team has to plant a bomb in the other teams base. Im still thinking about other ideas. Perhaps hostage rescue, but Im not sure yet, Im gonna concentrate on the main 2 ideas first. When the map firsts loads the host (or Red, Player 1) can choose the number of rounds to play untill "Game Over" , all odd numbers so theres no tie at the end. The number or rounds will be 3,5,7,9. Then the host also chooses the "levels". Levels are basicly the whole map split into smaller arenas. Then the host can choose a game type, CTF or Assault. After a team wins a round the host may choose another arena and game type, just to generate a bit of variety for a longer game. I do need a bit of help though with one thing. I'll need a kind of, custom onscreen scoreboard so that when a team scores and wins a round, the Scoreboard shows "1" for Orc/Human. If anyone can lend a hand there I'll drop their name(s) on the credits of the finished map. Also Im hoping for a more fast paced game. Basicly any unit can kill any unit in 2 hits minimum, no matter what upgrade/buff they may have. BUT (hopefully) I'll be able to make "pickups" that increase the minimum damage but your maximum damage will always remain the same. This means that one on one someone that just respawned "could" kill you even if you have the meanest buff. Im also hoping to chuck in a little "commentry", like you hear on the tele during football lol, just to add to the fun really, but that will be challenging. Might also fiddle with the camera angles too in the later stages. Any feedback/ideas welcome. Please remember though I would like this too remain as simple a map as humanly possible. Thanks TheeTainteD of Minigames! |

Everything that you describe sounds doable, although it will take a bit of work. I don't think you'll benefit from having a hostage rescue mode, since that's really just like carrying a flag back, except it follows you on its own instead of being in your hands. At any rate, I'ma move you into the "Maps in Development" subforum. |
