Well im currently trying to create some head rests on a bed model for my rpg however im having some trouble....when i did this line extrusion in gmax it worked fine now in 3ds max seems to be more complicated. All i wanna do is take my one line segment here and 3 arcs and extrude them into a 3d model. ive attached some pics of what ive done maybe someone with experience can explain what to do?

select the shape or 2d model and type right botton of mouse and select convert to editeable poly them select the new poligon and extrude it, now select the border of the part down and look for cap botton and finally use cap botton to create the down poligon.

ty for the rep and is okey that way, 1 thing i'm going to tell you is that spline modelling (2d to 3d) is 1 of the best and most needed modelling tecnics, is the most used by PR; here is an example of spline modelling i made a bit before:
Zoom (requires log in)

162 faces and looks that nice, i just made it with 2 splines.

this is new doodad i was working on...ive made one before but this ones much better looking. Any suggestions or ideas? keep in mind i dont know how to make a blanket im waiting on my cloth fx plug in to come in mail and i still might not use a blanket that could add a huge amount of faces.

im not sure if u made the spiky things on purpose...but it looks alittle funky...i bet real spheres would be betta...but make sure if u do to make them only like 5-6 sides since it will exponentially increase the poly count

it looks perfect but be sure to don't make to poly curves.
