New Layout for wc3?

Hi, i posted before about making a new layout and so i figured this is what id do, this is completly my own idea its not taken from anywhere else, im just sick of using the stadard wow layout. Getting bored of it.

Ok So heres the pic

  • The New Areas (e.g ashenvale, northrend)
  • The new citys, towns etc

The New Areas
-First we have New Ashenvale, this is the remants of ashenvale to the north east of the map, as all the plates of the world have shifted and some have been lost as Northrend has melted and it has sunk alot of the world.

-You will see a big plate in the Centre, this is the Northrend, barrens and felwood all joined together over years of forming of the world. The north point is called NORTHWOOD, as its old northrend and felwood co joined.

-The Middle part is where the World Tree is now, in the centre of the map where it belongs. Since the Mael Storm used to be here, its caused some magic collisions, producing a powerful aura full of old Ghosts and Nether World Creatures. ( a nether town is here, like a ghost type town...very evil)

-The south point, the old wastelands, is where thrall established Durotar, but since the orcs have been corrupted and have been relinquished back into their old chaos ways. (dont ask)

-New Lordareon, is basically lordareon, but undead teroitory, as i figured thats where they all got slaughted so this is the primary undead island.

The New Citys/Towns/Outposts
-All the alliance towns are marked in yellow, the first at the north east point is called the Imperium Alliance Outpost, where elves , humans and dwards are allied as one. This is where u will start (on my map)

-Old Dutorar, a chaos orc inhabited land and city, this is the prime chaos orc base. *all orc and undead bases are marked green*

-Elune Vale, is the alliance primary stronghold, a large forest city *not yet built in editor* where all elves, human and dwards co exicst.

-The citadel, a terrifying undead citadel with huge buildings, slaughterhouses and infamous tourture and undead sacrficial cults take place.

Thats my Ideas So far, any suggestions *if u could be arsed to read it* would be fine.

PLEASE NOTE: this is my map, my world and i dont care if its incorrect, thats the whole idea!

well i cant doubt it, your story states that the geographical plates of Kalimdoor (is that it or Arezoth?)... the land of warcrafd. And with that in mind i cannot and refuse to doubt anything that you have jsut stated.

i reckon the story sounds great so far.

one problem i have is the orcs becoming chaos is way, way, way to cliche... its be over used... Its mainly done because its easier to implement and wont require as much work.

also dont be afraid to use attachment points and stuff, on dark lineage... they made a whole new race attaching the death coil missle art on the heads of certain units (like the orc shaman) - its very inovative.

Woah great advice, id never thought of that....ok i agree on the orc thing....just what do u think i should call them? They are orcs....and they must be allied with ud hence being evil.....

well, chaos orcs didnt make a pact with the undead.... they did it with the demons

maybe have them make a pact with the undead... or maybe a sacrifice themselves

Well this is set a while after wc3 initally took place, about a phew thousand years....as plates do take a while to move....wow thats boring, how about the mael storm merged with the world tree and fucked everything up....that soundes right ^_^

anyway, i was thinking, maybe the orcs could of been infected and now there all mutated and corrupted....call em the.....errr......The Relinquished Orcs (undead scourge version of orcs?) :(

maelstrom idea sounds ok i spose... no infection, something else.

Corrupted then.....after so many years of not talkin to the elves and humans etc, they lost contact....they made a pact with the undead scourge for some sort of power but got betrayed and are now cursed and forever relinquished to be under there control?!?!

(undead and orcs must be allies)

maybe them allies and not slaves? they both hold a mutual alliance... even the WoW alliance between orc and undead is still not mutual.

mmmm ur saying there both evil just not allies in battle etc....so they are evil ...ok i get ya....orc vs the alliance (hu,elf, dwarf) and ud vs the alliance

is that what ur syaing

orc and ud have no beef>

it says that undead and orc have an alliance in WoW but undead are just there to further themselves and will ditch them if they dont need them

what i mean, is that they are seen as an un-nessicary or lessers. that the orcs and undead become strongly allied, that they not only see each other as equals, but as strongly linked - like friends.

From what I understand of the WoW storyline (I don't go to the site so much so that I don't see what I'm missing out on and feel like busting my savings on the game), the Undead are allied to the Orcs simply because the Orc Shamans are able to keep them alive with their magic. I'm not sure of the accuracy of this, however.

I'll just drop my 2 cents while I'm here; you want the Orcs to be evil? Let's see.

Since this is placed thousands of years after WC3 (Thus explaining the shift of tectonic plates), it wouldn't be hard to 'invent' a climate change. At one point in this timeline, an immense drought could've ravaged the Southern Hemisphere of the planet (The imaginary line I drew across your map splits the Old Wastelands and New Lordaeron from the other two towns). The Undead, having no need for water or food in order to survive, were barely affected, and continued their progress (?). Orcish population, however, was decimated by food and water shortage. Eventually, the proud kingdom that Thrall established dissolved, as the Orcs split into smaller clans to augment chances of survival. Unrooting from their cleansed Orc culture that was established by Thrall, these Orcish Warbands returned to the barbaric lifestyle that existed under Blackhammer's rule, back in the First War. After a few decades, the Warbands began warring against each other for control of the Wasteland's disappearing resources. You could then suppose a new Warchief arose and united the clans into a new Horde that remained barbaric. Eventually, the drought still present, the Orcs defined the need to invade the northern lands of the Night Elves for resources, and concluded a pact with the Undead so that both factions crushed the Night Elves. The Undead, however, will only help the Orcs crush the NE's so that they can later discard their allies and claim the Wastelands and Northwood for themselves.

There. A somewhat reasonably realistic storyline that would explain an alliance between Orcs and the Undead. You wouldn't need to do anything to the Orcs, just leave them as they are now.

I hope I was of assistance.

Well, point taken. It's true that there's propably a minimal number of people who would actually take concern on reading the storyline. I think it's sad, being a person who thinks any good game needs a good story. Anyways, there IS a way to fix it.

Let's say you got four factions of races to choose from (Orc, Human, Undead, Night Elf). Suppose you choose an Orc Warrior, just for the sakes of the example. You could then have a message pop up.

You have chosen an ORC WARRIOR.
After suffering under a ravaging drought, Thrall's empire dissolved into warring Warbands of ravenous Orcs. The bands began war with each other, until they were united under the leadership of (Name). Having lost all of their old culture, they returned to being a barbaric race, and have lately concluded a pact with the Undead factions. By doing so, they hope to conquer Northwood and claim all of it's resources, abandoning their misery in the drought-scarred Wastelands.

You could then do the same for the Undead.

You have chosen an UNDEAD WARLOCK.
The Undead have but grown in strength over the last few centuries, creating an impenetrable citadel of evil on what was once Lordaeron. Seeking to expand their plague and pestilence to the rest of the continents, they have concluded a pact with the new, barbaric Orcish Horde, promising an alliance to crush the Night Elves of Northwood. Once the Elves are defeated, however, the Undead plan to discard their Orc allies as well, taking dominion of both Northwood and the Wasteland, and then proceed to destroy the Humans of the Imperium Alliance Outpost.

There. I hope I was of assistance.

i like the idea about the drought...

orcs become barbaric etc, they still have an alliance with the undead (from WoW, because the undead never could amount to enough power to not need the undead).

THe orcs try their hardest to stay alive without going to their undead allies (stubborn-ness)... So although undead & orcs still have a rather strong allies the orcs scatter into smaller clans in order to survive without the undead finding out.... it was only until when the undead got frustrated with the lack of contact and in fear of their ally's lives sent out a scouting party and told the undead of the grim news.

it branches off after there... but i will add more when i can be bothered

Yeah keep things as to minimun complexity as possible otherwise ppl with low attention spans will just leave....i like that idea of posting a message after they select there hero
