WHat I'm doing with the Pandaren Campaign is both types of campaign. The one brother follows a Rexxar-like storyline, while the other is an army leader, and thus follows a storyline similar to Arthas, Thrall, Tyrande, Sylvanas...

You needn't make a choice per se, both types of campaigns are pretty much compatible.

You mean so you can choose if you play Story&Rpg or story?

2 days left! Vote!
Anyway, I got idea for the campaign. I could make the first map 224x224 and Arkidas will train there to become Hunter Of Chaos. After his training he will move to a small Island to complete his training. When Arkidas is Hunter Of Chaos the campaign could start to become like Human campaign, sentinels campaign etc.(Story Campaign, from 60x-100x maps) But the first map is 224x224 and will be fun to play! After that map people might get tired of rpg playing(To those who not know the Rexxar campaign is 3 110x140 maps), so I was thinking about if that is a good idea?
All feedback is appreciated!

By opinions of the terrain if often comes to the result that large maps like that are not often finished because of mostly the same reason. It is VERY annoying to work on the same map over and over again. It is always the same and the terrain quickly gets bored with it. So it is better to make more small maps instead of several large ones.

That's excatly what I was saying Fladian! I make one 224x224 map which I'm 50% done with now and all the other maps will be small like story campaign maps. Making 10 224x224 maps is dumb, People don't want to play that anyway. But if I make just one map 224x224 and all the others "normal size" then my campaign will be fun I think.

So I guess I am going to make Story campaign, only the first map will be like rpg.

What you say about that?

I think your idea is fine, although I dont think there is a clear line between the two genres..

Question though.. Since it is about Arkidas, how would he get in command of an encampment? I dont see where in your story a "building" scenario fits. So it'll probably be about Arkidas wandering the land. So it'll probably be an rpg nowadays, no?

Arkidas is a hunter. He lives in Avane village while his family lives in Moontear village.

The first chapter is like a rpg, the only main quest in teh first chapter is to get to a certain level, but many optional quests to get items will be available. After you reach the level you will travel away to kill a chaos hydra. After that Kelgor uses the heart of the hydra to morph Arkidas into Hunter Of Chaos. After this the campaign will be non-rpg.

Any more questions WorldWatcher?

I was already familiar with the story, Arkidas.

Ok, it is non-rpg after the first mission. But I'm wondering: what happens storywise? What will Arkidas do as a Hunter of Chaos? Wage war on enemy bases with an army or do solo quests? In the latter case, which seems to be the more obvious one, your whole campaign is rpg-like.

So simply put: what happens after the Hydra, when Arkidas is a Hunter of Chaos?

Most chapters will be like army leading(humans) but some chapters will have only hero using. The first few chapters will be only hero using.
