Guest | Hi there! Dunno if my post is like double or something, i cant seem to find my own post after posting?!?!? Wel anyway, First of, i want to say that this forum rulez! I really got great help editing from these forums! My question is; How can i make an attack act like a shotgun attack?! So i want to make a marine with an shotgun-like attack so he can hit multiple targets with one shot! I played a little with the Damage Spill radius and the damage Spill distance, but no luck... Could anyone explain to me in detail how to make such an attack>?! Thx in advance! Grtz, LosVlamos |

the seige tank skill, barrage allows you to passively fire multiple missiles. |

Guest | Thx for your reply! but Uhm... i'm not sure what you mean by that (siege tank? isnt that starcraft?!) o_O Could you explain that a little?! So far, i added the attack type into Missile(splash) with AOE but now if the enemys come close they hit themselfes... (the shotgunners that is) and thats not what i intended! So how (In detail pls) can i make a shotgunner marine (no hero) act like one! Grtz, LosVlamos |

I think he means steam tank. Anyway I think it should be possible (I haven't tried) to make cluster rockets and orb ability and then replace the rocket models or something along those lines, and you have actual shots coming out in an area. I haven't actually managed to create an orb ability and make it so that everytime the unit attacks it casts a spell on the point of attack, but I know it's been done. You can just increase AoE of the attack :D but it doesn't look pretty. |

Either the Steam Tank ability or simply change the data field for "Maximum Number of Targets" for the unit's attack. I don't know what this will do exactly if you change it from one, never tried. |

Certain fields in the object editor only work with certain attack types. Number of targets works for bounce attacks, damage spill distance and radius only work for artillery-line attacks, area of effects works for splash attacks. In your case, to avoid your splash-shotgun dealing damage to the attacker when the enemies get too close, just edit the splash damage - targets allowed field so that it can't hit friendly units. |

Why not just have splash damage |

That damages the own units, couldnt fix it with the 'targets allowed field'... Anyway, i'm more than satisfied with the barrage results! ^_^ Grtz, VLaaM |

Yeah, that didn't work because you were probably modifying the wrong field, because I didn't tell you exactly right what the field is named. It is the "Combat - attack 1 - area of effect targets" that says to which units splash damage will apply. the "targets allowed" just says which units the unit is allowed to attack. |

Guest | Wouldn't it have been easier just to use cleave attack, and edit the stats to your needs? |
