The ability shadowmeld, is hardcoded ...or is it? well basically i want to make an ability like shadowmeld but its permant only thing they can see you....its an effect for making my Nether Race....i could manually change the vortex colouring and transparacy by triggers, but id rather it be alot more easier u know |

Couldn't you just use the "Ghost (visible)" ability? Take a look at the ward units and see how they do it. |

the ghost ability and the ghost ability (visible) allows units to walk through them... they can still target attack and all that, its just when movement is concerned, units just walk right through them. im not even sure if it makes them transparent. you could have a trigger that pics every unit of type and makes them transparent... or have it when ever a unit is trained change it. i think the best thing to do is check out ghost (visible) like th15 said... if it doesnt provide any transparency - you will need to delve into triggering it. there may be alternatives though, my rough gess could be buff/effects - custom ones? |

Buffs don't change the model itself. Timer buffs can, but they have the unfortunate side effect of creating that summon timer. |

Invisible {permanent} from the Draenei/shadow wolves would be your next best friend. You'd just need some triggering to make an invisibility detector folow your units around. |

The whole point is to avoid teh triggerering..... OR i could get the effect of Ethreal.....from the spirit walker....but i cant find it...i know its not a different model |

Like I said, the only way to get effects like ethereal, animate dead e.t.c. is to apply a life timer with the appropriate buff. The ethereal ability is hardcoded to have that effect. |
