Guest | Has anyone successfuly managed to create a hero spell in three levels healing by a fixed amount all friendly units nearby? I tried to make one based on War Stomp and Thunder Clap; in both case everything works except changes to the "tags" resource, which are simply ignored... The result is a great spell that heals your ennemies :mtk: Anyone was more succesful? |

I have succesfully managed to create a Mass Healing spell. Why bother with War Stomp and Thunder Clap when the best base for that spell can be simply... scroll of healing! Yes, IT DOES WORK. Scroll of healing does basically the same what you want. Unfortunatelly not all item-spells can be used as the base for a new hero/unit spell cuz some of them don't have an icon appearing ingame (like Orb of Fire). Martinez |

Guest | Never tried to use an object as a spell before... I'll try that tonight. Thanks for the tip. |

If you need an icon to appear, then add one. You people really need to work on your spell skills, cuz most of you dont have a clue what your talking about beyond some very simple spell editing. |

Me? I've created many new spells (some with edited graphics). And yes I did mean spells based on the old ones when I said "NEW". Martinez |

Guest | All item abilities have worked for me to base new spells on, there are just three that never worked: item life steal, increased attack speed and basically anything with +something to some stat like boots of elvenkind or something. |

Guest | lordsinister: Add ItemLifeRegen to that list. It doesn't work when you try to research it. |

So when you base these new spells off of former items does it become a new hero spell that you put levels into or does it stay an item. It just seems to me that it would stay as the item form, but then again I know nothing about spell editing. Just curious |

Well... you can say that we make new spells but the thing is that the way they work must be similar to the ones that exist (spells or items). They DO work like spells not like items (they cost mana, you don't have a limit of times you can use it) if you want to but you can also make new items that work just like the unit/hero spells.
