it looks good man.. but damnit... you made lineart out of it. i absolutely hate lineart... it will turn a good sketch into a color book drawing for 5 year olds.. but still... awsome pic.. i might color it sometime. |

Guest | lol, the simplest color is always the coolest. 1 - draw your line art over a transparent background. make sure this layer is always on top (scan line art use magic wand tool and select the white background, delete, instant transparency :P) 2 - duplicate the layer and call it "background" make sure it stays under everything else 3 - make a new layer called "color," make sure its under the line art layer draw a base color for your drawing. green skin, white spikes, whatever. 4 - over the color make a new layer called "shadow." shading is EASY just imagine a point of light fromt he top left corner. select an area to shade. legs for example. use the ink dropper tool to select the color of the base color layer. click the color button (white/red/blue/whatever color square) and you should have a big linear thing of colors, just slide the bar like an inch below where it was, you will get a darker shade of the color. shade, 5 - (optional) over the shadow layer create a new layer called highlights. i dont really think high lights are necesary all the time but they can make an image look alot better. do the same thing as the shadow, but slide the bar up, you will get a lighter shade of color. 6 - if it all looks fine and dandy, merge down all layers, from line art, to color. (line art > high lights > shadow > color STOP. leave the background. hide the layer with the image on it. draw something simple for the background, use a grass brush or something. and you should get soemthing like this! see, very simple shading and high lights. |

I like you picture, you are pretty good a line art. I think it would have looked better if the tail was on the ground instead of waving in the air because it looks like a creature with only two legs like that would be sunf the tail for balancing. I think you did a fine job on the spikes. |
