Right, I'm having this wee tiny little problem here. I want to have a generic start-building, something like a Circle of Power, wich you upgrade to a number of different buildings. Inspired by EA's BfME, althou different. Anyway, so I want to upgrade to, say, a Barrack. Not an usual barrack, thou; no, I want a barrack that sells units, not training them. So I fix three units in the Object Editor - the Circle, the Barrack and the Unit. Say it's a footman or whatever. The Circle I make upgradeable to a Barrack. So far so good. In the Barrack, I add the unit to the Sold Units-field. And the unit I simply edit so it is... buyable. Bleh, edit cooldowns and such. Now, now. So I place a Circle in the map, and run the map. I upgrade the Circle. I get, indeed, a Barrack - but the barrack can't sell anything! The portrait/icons won't even appear! So I change and just upgrade to an ordinary Mercenary Camp. No. I then change so that the unit I want sold, is instead trained. Then it shows up. The conclusion: if you upgrade a building to a building wich sells units, the units won't appear. NOW HOW THE "¤)&¤&()/¤&() do I come over this obstacle? Preferably without the use of triggers, please. It gets annoying after a while when you have to do it with aaall buildings, practically. |

With triggers this can be fixed very easily. Without triggers it think what you have to do is add the units AGAIN to the barracks cause when a building is upgraded, it becomes a completely different unit i believe. Just ask if you want teh trigger solution. |

Actually, the problem is that units that are upgraded from other units can't have any abilities that the units below them didn't have. Try giving the CoP a Sells Units ability like your Barracks. Also, just make sure that your Barracks has all the same unit abilities as a mercenary camp. If nothing else works, you can make a tiny trigger that replaces the barracks with a barracks when it's finished constructing. Since it's no longer a barracks that was upgraded from a prior unit, it can have any abilities you want. |

Aye. Well it seems that it was, in fact, so. I think I'll stick to the replacing-thingy; seems simple 'nuff. Thanks lads. Been helpfull. |

Apart from the fact it won't work... You need to add the abilities that allow a building to sell things. |
