Hullo, I thought of a great campaign/map. Its a campaign with a few missions where you take the role of a (starcraft) Protoss Scout Terran Wraith or Zerg Mutalisk and you fly around and attack, I've made a storyline for the scout levels but working on the others. The scout will have one mission which consists of 3 levels. But heres the twist, its not an ordinary rpg/shooter, you control the walking and click on what you want to attack. I've gotten help with the movement trigger(its U.V's from war3seaRCH), and i'm almost done with the attack trigger. The way you attack in warcraft 3 isnt going to work, so with this trigger you can fly around, and still shoot.And there is a trigger with controlls of flying height (i've worked it out) Flying height can affect types of enemies, and not crashing. And if people like it, i'll make a *lite* multiplayer version.( like ctf or someother type of game) So..What i need is Modeler(Not much, needed for doodads)- Terrain Skinner(To give a thousand feet in the air' feel)- Another Triggerer- Someone else to help with the missions(idea person)- Any help is appreciated, ty in advance. I'll put some screenys up later, i've got alot things i have to do. *whew* |

You can be in, but first show me what you can do. In the map i'm having trouble with when you turn, the camera stays the same and you see the side of the ship. However, when you see the side, you also see the dummy attackers behind you. I can definetly use another triggerer. |

Actually this sounds a lot like the map I've already begun... My origional idea was to have it be able to change hieght, but that wouldn't really stop the weapons from hitting, so instead of having a really limited game in terms of weaponing, I decided to have a really kick ass game, that you can't move up or down in... at least for now. My sig shows my progress : P. I hope that this isn't a rip on the idea I posted on that board you mentioned.... BTW: I need a spell like Stampeed, but will allways go directly infront of my ship instead of from a random position. |

Well your map sounds cool, maybe we help each other. But as terms of height goes, in my map, height effects what enemies you run into. If your height is around 400, only things able to hit you are missle turrets, and other flying units.( it wouldnt be realistic of a marine shooting into the air and hitting) But i need help with the cam trigger with it. AS you go up(in my map), i'll implement a trigger to pause unit firing, and make the units look smaller, (cept for air) PRe-alpha shots coming. |

This is a small WE shot of the back of the scout you fly in a mission. The camera isnt going to be like that but a little more up. -UPDATE- (triggers) -Fixed a small attacking bug, now i have to balance it all out. -Tutorial mission (demo) about 30% done. -Thought of possible ideas for zerg and terran missions . EDIT; picture to big for some reason. |

Cool, if you terrain that'd be aload of less work for me, send me some of your work. Triggering it is harder and going to take alot longer. I'm still having some trouble with balancing issues/numerous bugs. But i',m going to fix it right away. I'm fixing a trigger for when you get height to 500, that things that have pathing blockers dissapear and you can go over them. EDIT; I'm having great- trigger progress today, i've made the weather trigger,(weather affects your speed.) |

***Update*** - With help from trigger forum, i've completed the height trigger. (allows you to go above stuff.) -Camera still fucked up -Completed story of all 3 missions. And diffuculty set for all of them. Protoss- EASY Zerg- Medium Terran- Hard Each race has its own mission. Each mission has three levels, cept for protoss (for tutorial level) -Done some of the health trigger. (Color coded to show hp.) Screens 1. Cinematic map* Fleet of protoss 2. Pre-Pre alpha back shot |

Guest | sounds nice, i'm a suck ass triggere but i know sum terraining, and skinning. i think you should adjust camera bounds when u go 2 a new level of height, i saw it in sum multiplayer map, where u dive, and then ur underwater, and you can resurface, and pop up the same place u submerged, we just need some coordinates. |

Skinning will help alot more. ***UPDATE*** Just some ideas - Made some new ideas for special functions - Thought of the zerg missions in detail -Thought of a trigger that would really affect height levels. (Who can attack etc.) IF you want to know the missions. But if you dont want to ruin the surprise be quiet. For Christmas i might take some more screenies. But work will be alot slower until the 26th. EDIT: Screen: This shot is the first ingame alpha image. It shows the health monitor at work. (look at the screens hp, then look at the sides. it shows orange to indicate caution level) And shows me getting my ass kicked by some terrans. But not all that much custom implimented yet. |

Ok, well It's been a while sence I've worked on my map, but if you need help with anything, I'll tell you what I've done. Camera- Locks on unit, 1st person view, camera turns with unit >>Because camera is looking ahead at a small angle( <30* ) the field of view infront of you is high. Moving- Constant move, left/right turn in motion, looks really nice Attacking- For now, the UP button fires a machine gun (using dummy units) >>It works, but I will have to have the bullets die after getting too far away to stop lag, currently that's what's holding my map back. Weapon System- All thought out, and possible, but I want to keep lag in check before continuing with this. >>The weapon system looks REALLY nice, but it does nothing yet, I don't want to tell what I'm doing with it currently because it's really cool. ANYway, If I can stop the lag of the game from the dummy bullets, then I could start working on my map again. PS: Lowering the range of Stampeed, also shortens the distance each bullet travles, so if I lower the bullet to a range of 100, it stays center, but dissappears after 100 distance. (I've tried this :( ) |

What you could do about attacking, is have the dummy units fly behind the ship. Then the dummy's attack with a regular attack. The only problem i've had with this is unit editing, i just cant do that stuff. I havent gotten much done, and i'm still trying to get the camera bugs to work. |
