Broken Kingdom
8 player Battlenet map
Completion Percentage -
Terrain - 90%
Triggers - 30%
Units - 10%
Objective: Kill all enemy lords permanently. Capture towns and barracks to gain more recources and troop production centers.
Gameplay Description: Alot like the Diplomacy/Europa/Rise of China maps where captured territories are relied upon for recources rather than peasants and structures. Unlike those maps, Broken Kingdom will capitalize on Warcraft III's RPG/RTS feel. The map wont cover an entire continent but will be on scale with the units. It will have alot of custom units which can be trained from captured barracks. Each player will have one main hero, the lord. The lord will lead your troops into battle with his auras and spells, and can be revived at your starting base, the keep. When your keep is destroyed and you can no longer revive your fallen lord you are defeated. Recources are gained from captured towns. Each town has a certain number of villagers which you can tax. When you train troops, villagers are taken from the towns. Your gold income depends on your tax rate and the number of non-military townfolk. A high tax rate and/or losses of other towns can reduce morale, putting your villages in danger of revolt. Alliances are not fixed so players can ally and unally each other. Allied victory will be enabled to some degree, i havent quite decided on the conditions.
Story Description:
King Felethas died suddenly, leaving no will and eight sons with rights to his throne. From the minute he drew his last breath the sons began preparing for war. Now his lands are threatened with destruction and family blood. The game begins on the bring of war, and only the eight players will decide what will become of the broken kingdom.
Features:
-high quality terrain (I am using the elveswood tree model)
-vast 256x256 map
-many custom units and spells
-long, fun gameplay
-very story driven

This map will take a while to complete. Bear with me, I am not trying to rush through it.

Ah.
Excellent screens, you're a great terrainer. though, you should put less fog (because of the contrast with the sky).
Great concept. I hope it will not be too big for a Bnet map... will you import other things than the elveswood tree?
Godd luck.

OK, quick update. Ive started on the units. The map is really laggy in the editor because of the doodads. Terrain is about 80% done now, but alot of it will be redone once I add more units.

Terrain is about 90%. I didnt really work on it over Christmas. Ive got a good start on the units now. Heres a screenshot of the entire map. Some of the doodads and units didnt show up, but thats the basic layout. Ill update this map later with keep and town locations and other info.

Thanks for the feedback. Ive started on triggers and am now up to my nose in a mess of variables >.<. Anyways, Ive got two screenshots from the town of Welshire. One from the world editor, one from the game.

Alright, Ive gotten the trigger problems i had run into earlier figured out. I now have a working population system. Ive started to work on units and upgrades. So far I have the two tier one military units: militia and light spearmen. There will be five tiers determined not by the hall, but by the barracks. Ive also got the weapons upgrade just about completed with all 10 levels and I have started the armor upgrade. Heres a screenshot of a small army i put together.

One question, what is that cage doing in the town?

You know, for the thieves and stuff put them in the cage for a few days, or whatever you need to use it for. Its just part of the doodads.
Update: Added three more units. The Improved Barracks, the Archer and the Footman.
