Since we've got a thread devoted to what kind of map is the worst on Battle.Net, I thought I'd start a thread about what maps people enjoy the most. I'm going to go ahead and list my top five most played maps. #1) DotA Allstars Who hasn't heard of this. I play this more often than I would like, since my real life friends are always having me play with them. All in all, it's a fun game with an amazing amount of depth. #2) Gladiator Survival This is my map, so it better have a high spot. I'm a biased source since it's my game, so no review. #3) Ryoko TD I just started playing this recently, and since it's a TD I probably wont play for too long...but once again, this map is fun with a lot of depth. The mini-games are enjoyable and the five races add some replayability. #3) Minotaur TD I don't even like TDs, and there are two TDs in my top five. This game is fun though. I haven't even begun to explore any mode other than solo, so I can't say much for it; I like working with the layout. #4) Archon's Emerald Hero Survival I have a couple serious problems with this games glaring imbalances, but all in all I find it a pretty enjoyable hero survival with a whole lot of choices. #5) Pyramid Escape Yes, I like this game. Yes, I even like Quiz of Death. This is a fun short way to pass the time if I'm waiting for a friend of something. What about everyone else? I'd be interested to see what other people's lists are. |

Thank you. :) And I was working on a Topaz version, but kind of.. err.. stopped. Should I finish it and totally balance the now total ammount of 50+ heroes? :o But I'm so busy already as it is... :( |

Wow you made that? Now I'm all embarassed for saying it had glaring imbalances, I should think more before I post things like that. I guess this is a mapmaker forum. Despite my shame, I still think some heroes are much more useful than others. That probably happens when you have SOOO many heroes. Regardless, very fun game and good work :) |

Happy holidays to you too. Quote:
Yes, I made it. And yes, I know it's imbalanced. Which is why I made the new version.. or at least, begun on making it. Archon's Hero Survival - Topaz. Over 50 heroes, all strikingly different. Oh, btw. Have you ever played the secret hero in the original Emerald? :) |

Guest | Ok, im posting my list. It's not made with the maps I play most, but with the maps I like most (well, the map at 1st pos. is both things): ·1st position: Fury of the Tribes TD (by Mara.Jade):This my map, I know, but, hell, I love it! And this is NOT a maul-clone, nor a path TD, nor anything already seen. It's orignal, well balanced, challenging and fun. ·2nd position: Voi's Drawing Fun (by Voi): as the name says, this is really fun! A player draws over a blank board, and all the other players try to guess what the picture is. A classic greatly adapted for warcraft. ·3rd position: Film Maker (by Mara.Jade): yes, I made this map. Probably the map I have laughed most with. But you gotta find good players, otherwise it can become boring, cause it requires lot of time. Anyway, if you have patience to learn, you can become addict to this. ·4th position: Burbenog TD(by Shvegait): this path TD offers a nice variety of races, towers and levels, plus some very original features. Anyway, it lacks some more balancing and the terrain is simply horrible. But, in terms of playability, it's one of my favourites, nearly followed by Hyde Park TD (by Voi). ·5th position: Multiple TD Challenge (by MikaelGRA): although this map is not very well made, it's really fun when you play with or against friends. Basically, its a Tower Wars map, but you dont send monsters. Instead, you gotta hurt a guy before every level; the most you hurt him, the more HP the other team creeps will have. It's an original game, very playable and fun. I would have like to put some RPG in the list, but I haven't played any good one yet. Probably some will think that this list sucks cause I put 2 of my own maps, but, well, the main reason I make maps its because I can't find good ones; "if you want something to be done well, do it yourself." No I never played the secret hero - I always listen to the tips, especially the one that says: "There is no secret hero. Nope. Not one. No secret heroes here." or something like that. Are you telling me that all along I've been deceived? That, after all, there IS a secret hero despite the clarity of that tip? Hehe, sarcasm btw. But I didn't spend much time trying to find him, there are so many normal heroes it's hard to be excited about finding a secret one - I still need to try all the regular ones! Oh, and Happy Holidays BurnInSpartan :8 |

Yeah, there's one. Area in the lower right corner of selection screen. Go there to play as StrawberryClock, the famous character from Newgrounds. |

#1 Spellcraft I don't know why I suddenly started playing it again but i love this map! Great idea, gameplay solid and balanced, and theres something fun about the level of custimization. Theres so many different modes that theres something for everyone to like. #2 The 11th Vampire Just... wow, though hardly anyone plays it this is a fantastic map, original, long, and pretty easy to learn. Also who doesn't like killing villagers :) #3 Burbenog TD The only TD i've really liked so far, great gameplay, ceding is great, and i love the special races like Uther and Hybrid, and yes I'm talking about the official version of Burb :) #4 S3 Marine Survival Beautifuly done map with all the custom icons for everything, well terrained, and good gameplay. I love all the weapons and the rather easy to use ammo/weapon system, combining is a great feature that should be in some other games with lots of items used in bulk. #5 Bombardment Wars I'm serious, this is not a shameless plug, I make maps that I love to play. I love altered melee, and its great to play your own map because you don't have to wait to get a fixed version for the slightest bug or imbalance. Also i just like blowing stuff up :) |

I like that everyone plays and enjoys their own maps. It makes sense, but it just says something good about a person if he/she can create something for themselves to enjoy. I think it takes a certain level of motivation and determination...but it's funny for me to say that, cause I do it too and I don't think all that highly of myself :). -Aaron |

Heh, I don't have 5 maps to list. :/ When I start playing something, I usually stick to it. That way, I have only played DotA:A for some time, and more recently Battleships. The annoying fact that I haven't yet been able to set up my router so I could host has really disabled me from playing my own maps, which sucks. If I could, there would certainly be some of them on my list. Actually, recently, I have been "playing" my Age of Sail map; but that's just because whenever I add something new, a weapon or a ship ability, I have to test it, and usually I end up playing the game through to the end. :) Happy holidays to all. |

My favorites are.... #1 EotA: Twilight (By DarnYak) Best damn AoS out there, also the most complex probobly, one or two games and you should have it down if you try. It has all original heroes all with original spells which most are based increased or lowered by how much of some stat. It also has a unique capturing system and spawn towers, and multiple ways to win. Lots of fun its in wc3sear.ch if anyone wants to see it, the newest version is 1.07e. #2 EotA: Exodus (By DarnYak) This game out before Twilight but in the EotA time line it happens after Twilight. Its a castle defense type map, but increadibly well done, with unique towers, heroes, and units. #3 Skibi's Castle TD (By Missing_Tooltip) Easily the best TD ever made, awesome mini-games, amazing towers and tooltips for each. This game was so awesome the creator was hired by Blizzard, you can't say that about many maps. I just love this map its so awesome. #4 SheepGuard TD (By ShadowWolf) This is another awesome TD, the amount of creeps spawned varies from how many players are playing. The sheep spawn from all sides and come towards the middle trying to eat the hay. It is very fun with original towers and a system where the builder is a hero and has to use mana to build the towers, which are items that you get at a shop. #5 Genesis of Empires (I can't remember who made this) Very fun game, build an empire and fight for your survival against other people. With a system of capturing areas which give you gold, etc. Interesting system of doing things, with very cool builders and buildings and random starting locations. |

1) Footmen Frenzy By HatoUp & Clan NoHunters - Its Addictive, Its Fun, it is the most balanced footmen map ever and it is extremely complex, you have to play it a little before you notice how much strategy is required... no joke, its a shitload. [b]I'll Get back to you for the rest. |

SS3Goku's Map Reviews 1st Place:Night of the Dead II This game is a fun game and even though it is nearly the same every time you can save your experience and are always looking forward to getting to the next rank or medal. 2nd Place:PARASITE I always find this game fun because you never know who the alien is and there is extreme suspence when you are trying to find the alien or when you see someone pass. When you are the alien you have to try and make sure your identity isn't revieled. 3rd Place:Legacies: Tides of the Serpant This is one of my favorite maps, you get to explore a island chain in a 3rd person cam and do quests and you can save your experience. The thing that keeps you playing is trying to get to higher levels and getting unique items. The few downsides however are the massive ammount of time it takes to finish, quests get borrowing after repeating them every game, the creators have been continuosly delaying the release of the sequal. 4th Place:DOTA This game is just fun, you get to control a hero and try to take out the enemy team, I just like to play this when I have some free time. 5th Place:World War III:The Nuclear Winter I know this game isn't hosted much any more but I love it, I like doing diplomacy and building up real world armies. |
