RPG story ideas needed

hey i'm curently stuck on what to do with my map... basically it starts off with meeting an elven wizard. He tells you about how an evil wizard has corrupted the king and now they are a kingdom of chaotic humans. The elven wizard took himself and a small group of elves and started new life. He is afraid that the evil wizard his found their location and will convince the king to send an army to wipe them off the face of the earth.

What i have now is a little forest area where the RPG just begins and now i'm stuck....

please give me ideas and may your christmas be full of fun

Oki so now you basicaly got a good rpg start ... right? Now its probably time for a meeting with the bad guys, which in your rpg is Chaotic Humans.

If it was my rpg i would probably have made a start quest which would be to construct an settlement. Now afther that quest is completed and whatever else they are doing, it is probably time for the badguys to come. I would make a cinematic where the evil wizard comes in and faces the elven guy who ran of with his people and make a little dialogue betwen those too. Now i would probably add some special effects examples: Foggy, water tint changing, forrest being corrupted (blight) etc... Afther that i would do so that they would have to escape again... This time almost everyone is taken as prisoners except the "hero" and when he find himself waking up in the middel of a sorched village, he would realise that he now got a new mission in his life... To kill the evil wizard so that his people can be free and they can live on.

So now he starts his journey towards the human citadel/castle/town/city. (on the way he might meet people and lern new things. Run into optional quests like: Help the old woman to retrive her sack of flour from the evil bandits, etc and the hero gains different rewards etc...

well anyways i hope this will help you making your rpg... Btw will it be a b-net map, solo or a campaign?

To me the story introduction seems a little cliched, but I'll work with it anyways.

First off, I'm assuming its not in the warcraft universe (makes it easier on my part as im not constrained).

character declaration:
Tidus: you the hero. A young General of the human military. (feel free to change names, I'm just using whatever comes to my head first)

King Richard: the King. Ruler of all human kind.

Rasputin: evil advisor to the King. A powerful and manipulative sorceror.

Vhan: elven sage or mystic-wise-elf. Leader of the remaining Ishbar elves.

story prelude:
Long ago there were 2 main kingdoms: that of man and that of elves. One main difference between the 2 kingdoms was that mankind predominately researched technologies while the elves studied the various magics, both arcane and natural.

Rasputin received knowledge that the elves were developing the ability to bring back the dead to life. Wanting this ability for himself, Rasputin convinced the king that the elves were plotting to overthrow the kingdom of men. An army was sent to destroy the main elven city: Ishbar. They struck at night, killing all, including women and children. Under cover of dark, Rasputin seized the elven research for himself and continued it secretly using military funds.

With the destruction of their capital and the death of thousands (including thier sage, Vhan) the other elven cities surrendered to King Richard.

The present:
Rasputin recieves word that Vhan is still alive. Shocked to hear this, he assumes that Vhan has completed the ressurection ability research. He sends a faction, Tidus's, to investigate and destroy. It has been rumoured that Vhan and the survivors of Ishbar are hiding out in the mountain passes of the Windy Range. This is where your first mission starts...

Act 1: A breath of air
Units available:
*Tidus - hero
*Footman - sturdy melee unit. has defend ability.
*Gunman - sturdy ranged unit. has concussive shot (bash).

Quest 1: Scaling Zephyr Pass --- Reach the top of Zephyr Pass
You start off at the bottom of Zephyr pass. A windy road that takes you higher and higher.
Enemies encountered: Mountain Trolls and Wolves.

Subquest 1: Troll warfare --- Free 10 Valley Trolls
As you ascend zephyr pass you encounter a small mountain troll camp. If you break open the cages you release 2 Valley Trolls that were being held captive by the mountain trolls. They request that you free their comrades in exchange for their service. You could take the detour to another Mountain Troll camp and break open the other 10 cages. When you clear the troll camp, and break open the last cage, you meet the Valley Troll cheif, who joins your army, in addition to the 10+2 other valley trolls.
New Units available:
*Des'Jin - special ranged unit. can cast hex and place a serpeant ward.
*Troll Priest - ranged spell caster. can cast heal and disable.
*Troll Basher - melee unit. Weaker than footman but is faster and attacks faster. Has evasion.
You may now hire Valley Trolls at Valley Troll camps. [Valley Troll camps are mecenary camps. If you complete this quest the camps are added to the map].

Subquest 2: Silk Weaving --- Kill 12 Weaver Spiders and return to Brakkk
When you reach 1/3 of the way up, you meet an old Orc Hermit. He requests that you bring him the remains of 12 weaver spiders so he can make a cloak for the upcoming winter. If you kill the 12 spiders and return to Brakkk, he will also make a spider cloak for you. Spider Cloak - Adds 2 armor and reflects one spell off of you (spell amulet ability).
New Enemies encountered: Spider Weaver (ranged), Spider Reaper (melee), Spider queen (melee).



2/3 of the way up you reach Harpy's Crevace. Narrow paths that zigzag back and forth.
New Enemies Encountered: Harpies

Subquest 3: The lone blue dragon --- Escort Valimir to the Dragon's Den
Along the way there is a gate in the mountains that is hidden by some Harpy's nests. If you go that way you meet a Blue Drake (Valimir) being attacked by some Harpies. If you kill the drake you get: Lesser Blue Dragon Scale - grants +2 intelligence. If you kill the harpies then Valimir thanks you and asks you to escort him to the Dragon's Den. If you do, then Veera (a Blue Dragon) gives you: Blue Dragon Scale - grants +4 Int and allows you to cast frost nova. It is also recorded that you collected a blue scale (if you collect the lesser scale it is also recorded). If you collect all colour scales you could get the rainbow scale.



When you reach the top of the mountain, you are ambushed by the elves. Your men are taken captive and you are brought before Vhan. Vhan reveals to Tidus that he knows why tidus was sent to Windy Range. Vhan also tells him that he knows Tidus took part in the Ishbar war. He tells Tidus what little he knows about Rasputin and his evil ways, and that Rasputin has stole Elven magics. Vhan shows Tidus the ragged survivors of Ishbar and convinces him to join the elven forces.

Vhan decides that it is not safe here in Windy Range, and decided to move the camp to another elven survivor settlement.
