Is it possible to make one particle emitter be visible at two different times in a single animation? Cause I tried but it wouldn't work, and as I'm currently working on a ship's explosion I'd like to keep the number of particle emitters as small as possible (right now I already have 26 of them! (it's a big big ship)) |

You can add some DontInterp Translation keys to make it move to the different positions that you want, and use the Visibility keys to make it turn off and on between then. Or, you could just keep it on the whole time and have it move (it would be a sudden move, though, being DontInterp). You cannot make it be in two different spots at the same time. |

In fact, the particle emmitter I was using as a basis only has emmission rate, and I tried to add emmission rate keys to say that it should be visible at two different instants in the anim, but it didn't work. But that's OK now, I think often the two moments when I want the emmitter to be visible would be too near from each other, so I'll do it the "stupid" way. And after all 35 (final count) emitters is not the end of the world, is it? |

That is near apocalyptic, but the world may in fact not end. EmissionRate modifications should work too. If you want to send/post the MDL, then I can try to figure it out. (Although it might be best just to leave what works alone in this case.) |

Don't worry, I'll leave it that way. The model is nearly done, Nasrudin offered to fix the shading for me, once this is done it'll be finished and I'll release it if Med Mapguy agrees with it. |
