Sketch dump

just... bored.



i've been reading about the ten tigers of canton, and i felt inspired to do sketches of them. the last one was huang ching he. he had an "iron head" in the description, so i figured that he'd probably fight with it. the one above that one is just a pose sketch. no story or anything behind him.

Well, I guess it's not that they are not perfect, it's just... well... they are UNFINISHED! ^_^ I gotta say Huang Chi He looks maybe too fat for me.

they might not be perfect, but i dont think there are many that do better... your poses are always verry nice and energetic. i'm always having troughle with that, by white paper has turned into a grey mass of lines before i have the right poze.

use another paper over to cover the place where your hand shud touch the paper... i forget that but it works when u remember!

thanks guys. huang ching he i imagined as being kinda thick, not overly defined but he's got bulk. so thats kinda why he's not bulging with muscles or anything. thanks erwt. i appreciate the comments.

the center dude is Su Hei Hu, or "black tiger su". master of the shaolin black tiger style, hence the name. i'm having trouble finding references to ancient chinese culture and costumes, so i just left him half naked. most of the rest of the sketches were inspired by this one dude i found on the net who does some sick ass kung fu stuff. he's really fuckin good.

well, in my case the smudges are not really smudges but actual lines running all over the place.

well you could do a bunch of small thumbnails to brainstorm pose ideas. then just pick your favorite and make a large sized one.
