Avatar meter adjust word?

When giving Avatar to another unit, i dont want it to say Avatar any more in the blue meter that signifies how much duration is left. the one that counts down like a summon does. I'd like to change this wording to represent the character i give it to. or have no wording at all.

no, couldnt be, because i've changed the buff to my own different one and it still shows that.

probably hard coded into the game. that sucks. i dont want to fool around with that if that's the case.

but it really seems stupid for it to say that for an entirely different spell.

thanks. i'd appreciate it.

i just thought of something. it might be in the "game interface". under advanced.. think that's possible?

I just looked over that list 3 times and didn't see anything with 'avatar' in it though. But i'd think it would be a constant or interface setting. just dont see it. hope it's there.

no, i think its hardcoded into a file in the MPQ...

i like using the word hardcoded. it makes me important.

It does, that's true.

Just try changing the Avatar buff, for my sake. Maybe it'd work.

Otherwise, you might want to edit Metamorphosis instead.. give the morphed unit bonus armor and spell immunity manually. Since I think meta's buff -can- be changed accordingly.

OH. And did you try changing the "neutral" Avatar that Lord Garithos has? It differs from the standard Avatar in some subtle ways that might help you.

You can change the AAAAARGH (howl of terror sound) to anything you want too. Original Avatar doesnt give you that option.

I know that metamorphosis displays the name of the buff it uses in the blue time bar. You can then just add a bonus aromr and damage abilities to the morphed version of the unit. The only problem is with spell immunity, as this ability will display an icon (the bonus armor and damage abilities, if you base them on item abilities, don't display icons). If this doesn't bother you, you can easily use metamorphosis instead of avatar as the base spell; then just make it use a custom buff (it's also a lot more flexible). Or, you can still try with the other avatar spell, maybe that will work.

Correct me if im wrong but i do believe that you edit that in the .slk file in the mpq.
That reminds me of the good ol' days of RoC...

Just change the original buff, and all custom abilities as well as the normal ones based off of avatar will give you that name, simple as that

I wonder if he ever tried it.

i've tried fooling a little with the metamorph ability but it crashes when it morphes. i've also tried doing what the one guy said about changining the buff.. and i've given it an entirely different buff.. no longer does it point to the avatar buff. but it still says avatar on that blue meter.. wonder why.

also i think that garitho's avatar is enough of the same that it will give me the same reaction.
