topic says all, this is my first real try to make a drawing. i know its not so good, and that the head is a bit big and the legs a bit small.
but my question is:
from the looks of this drawing, is it possible for me to make good drawings like you guys do?

practice! thats all you really need to do
if you dont you get worse
if you do you get better (that is if your trying to improve)

if you understand the head is too big and legs to small, go back and try to fix them
get a human model or something to pose and you sketch out the basic outlines

erwt has been practicing forever
ive 1 year (either that or it was 2, but now that i add things up it looks like 1 year)
and others countless years upon years of experience

so yea
time will tell this (look at the artist battle thread's earlier posts by me, man they suck)

listen 2 the others, err. and 2 answer ur Q U E S T I O N then depends on your age, how old are you?

I think all can draw, but less old you are better is it. You have ti train very hard but i won't surpass ot even do the same quality from Armel, Muoteck, StormrageJunior...( for example) in a few day.
For example SJ, drawn since its childhood, and look at the result. If you start now, maybe in few years, you do the same, but they become better...

I thnik there are not talent gived at the born, but the capacity to see excatly when represent a thing. when a feature is traced, one is able to visualize how the drawing is organized around. And with the experience, you learn to drawn anatomy, shadows ect....

sigh... i wonder when people will finnaly understand that drawing have nothing to do with talent at birth... any child do the same damn thing over and over again, its just depend if they praticed or not, when time come to understand all the anatomy, shading and stuff like that, its totaly different, me for exemple... i was the best damn drawer and a good painter at 8, i stopped at like 10 and restarted drawing at 17.. which is 1 year ago, i was totally crappy, if you want you can, just praticed, whatever age you are, my first stuff was approximatly looking like that if not worse.. it didnt stopped me from getting better in any way, creativity however is something else... the way you create stuff with your ideas is something hard to master, even more to put them on paper in the form of a picture, good exercises are to take something literraly hard, almost impossible to be represented with a picture, for exemple: life, love, hate, ect... try to make your representation of this, it will force you to think hard

holy crap, since when did age matter?

theres a 9 year old child prodigy who can paint pictures better than michealangilo (stupid name... cant spell it right!) or picasso (not that he was any good, just abstract)

it depends on time of practice
someone whos 30 cant draw better than someone whos 15 and practiced for 7 years
can they?

remember that, and never, NEVER say it depends on age ever again!

edit: if you dont mind ill post the first picture i tried to draw well
(first picture of ken'tel)

I sucked at drawing for like years... til highschool... were I got an ''artistic burst". I was then better and thought I was good which I wasnt and now im not bad so thats great.

If you started young its obvious you'll be good since you practiced along time. Talent.. I think theres a lil bit of that that can play in ur favor.

Age. well if ur very old and draw like a child its gonna take along time to get better but thats if u view it in a professional way. If its jst a hobby then who cares.

ok, thanks guys. ill just have to pracrice alot :D
i always loved to draw, but i wasnt realy trying to be good. later i stopped, but i began to draw recently again, and now i want them to be good. (btw, in one month im 17)
and i also dont think you are born with talent, but i think some people understand the whole drawing thing a bit faster then others do.

yes, just keep in mind if you want to get good, you can, need patience and practice + a bit of discipline to say yourself stop doing X and draw

btw talent is most of the time a misunderstood word, which here meant ''capacity of learning''

@ Shadow Strike, for some reason everybody thinks its an F, i even got a bad rep for it :\ . no its an S, if you look close you see that the F have a stripe in the middle.

@ Saboera, i think i got it, i always draw daily, but mostly unfinished sketches. maybe i should finish them.
yes your right, ''capacity of learning'' was what i meant.
