Weird World editor problem (Imported Files)

Reinstalled WC3 TFT a while ago and I haven't been using the editor since then, however, when I today tried to make a map, any files I imported didn't work, I know how to import files, have done it many times before, has anyone got any idea what might be wrong, is there some option you have to turn on to allow imported models/skins, or some change with the last patch that forces you to import models/skins in another way?

Any help would be nice.

Give us more details, i.e patch your running
what editor
Types of files your trying to import

Make sure the dataset is set to Melee (latest), that can usualy prevent file imports. Well in past experiance it has often been the source of it all for me.

Latest patch, no special editor (Normal WE provided by blizzard), importing skins (.blp) and models (.mdx).

Where do I change/check the dataset?

Try it. Also how many files you imported, and what size do they all amount up to?>

I don't know where to change dataset, pls inform me about it and I will try.

So far I have 4 files, I have not exceeded the size limit, they are a total of 236 kb.

Edit: Changed to melee, was no difference however, still no models appearing in the editor/in game.

As I said, it was a while since I last did this, so I might as well have made some mistake. Have acustom model, and then an edited version of the Chaos Orc Ranged unit's skin.

Have extracted the skin from the WC3 mpq, edited it in Adobe Photoshop, then converted it back to .blp format (Converting with WC3 viewer, also converting with pretty low quality ,25 but that shouldn't make any difference should it?). After that I import the edited skin, with the path:

units\Demon\ChaosOrcRange\ChaosAxeThrower.blp

Have saved the map and restarted the editor, but the model is still using the old skin.

*The chaos orc ranged unit is a hidden model (Model path units\demon\chaosorcrange\chaosorcrange.mdl)

Edit: Got the imported model to work (Had written the wrong path for it's skin) still can't get the imported skin for the Chaos Orc Range model to work though.

1. dont you always change the blp to the path of the model

Units\unit\model\model.blp

According to the MPQ, the skin for the Chaos Orc Range is at the path written, in the same way as many skins are under Textures. Where to put it depends on the model.
