OK im new to this Warcraft3 world editor but i am experienced in using the starcraft campaign editor. Im having trouble using the wc3 editor.
1. How do u make it so i get to use blue for a non melee map. Everytime i run the map it always sets me as red.

2. How can you make a wide variety of units invincible?

3. How do you modify the forces? everytime i create a new force, i cant move a team into the new force.

4. What should the initialization start off as when you create an RPG map?

Well thats about it. This new editor is alot more complicated than the starcraft editor!! Blizzard should've made the style more like the starcraft editor with new features!! it's less complicating.

Ok, first off, trust me the WE grows on you and you'll wonder how you ever lived without it! You can do SO MUCH in Warcraft that was beyond impossible back in StarCraft. You want an example? Check out Insaniteus Cinematics (Link in my sig.)!

Here are your answers:

1: Make a trigger in Map Initialization Player - Change color of Player 1 to Blue changin all existing units.
You can't set colors in WE, but with triggers it's easy.
2: Units - Pick all units in (unit group. Ex all units of a type owned by a player) and do unit - make picked unit Invulnerable.
3: I don't know what you're doing wrong here. Just click and drag, that's all that should be needed.
4: Depends on the map, although you should get rid of all of the Melee game ones.

I won't lie, WE is 1000x more complicated than SE, and it will take you months to really get good with it, but once you do the sky's the limit!

PS: Like I said before, download Insaniteus Cinematics. Also, once you get better with the WE, download the UMSWE from www.UMSmaps.com, since that allows you to do alot that you can't normally, like make a unit look like a doodad etc.

He means, what should be done at the begining of a rpg (I think)

That's where most ppl set most or all of their variables and quests sometimes. Also used to make groups or units invunerable so ppl can't kill important people; can set difficulty level, exp. rate, character selection triggers, etc.

I use the event - Elapsed time is 0.1 seconds, but you could also just use 0.0 seconds if you want (Don't use map initialization if you don't have to)

Ok thanks guys. i got it now. Oh and another thing, How do you lock the camera so the player cant change the viewing angle with the scroll mouse just like in the warchasers map only instead of locking the camera at helicopter view you lock it at the lower view. Im starting to understand the Editor now.

You could do it several ways, for instance:

Apply a camera* for a player, and THEN lock their view to a unit, region, etc.

* You create cameras in the "Camera Pallet". Then change their distance, angles, AoA (Angle of Attack) etc. to fit your needs.

Oh yeah and another thing, how do you make the map use the black mask ability. when i enable it in the trigger, it still starts the map off with fog of war instead of black masking it.

It's in the "Map Properties" Dialog Box. You can only change it if you have a 192x192 map or smaller there though.

Uncheck the 'Map is partially visible' thing

Dragatomic, instead of asking questions here, I suggest you load up and take a look at the "Warchasers" RPG map by Blizzard. Check your "Scenarios" folder in Maps. Most future WC3 RPG makers start out copying a lot of stuff from "Warchasers" - in fact, that's most likely what the original Blizzard map maker had in mind.
