Hello, guys! I'm not new to skinning, but I never really made a "different" skin for any model. This is my first try at it. It is majorly a recolor, but it has quite a load of freehand. I would like you to comment it, and would be specially thankful if you gave ideas for the bow (it is only provisory). I probably won't change the rest of the skin, but you may give ideas on that too. Remember, she is a Drow, and drows like to dress in a, uh, monochromatic way (well, that IS true, but I really didn't have any ideas for colors ).

anyway, no. youre not.

drows are dark elves, or not?
if they are, you should make the skin pale. like white/blueish.
and they usally were something black leathery stuff.

if drows ARE dark elves, then i agree with everyting that Runny sad.

Hmmm... I'll note what you said down, but I think you don't know what drows are. Here is a reference picture (random image found in Google, so I can't give credits)

The eye thing Reaper said though is a think to think about. Drows HAVE red eyes, but I can't remember if only the iris is red or if the eye orb is COMPLETELY red. I'll try to find more reference pics to find that out.

Oh! And thanks for the feedback so far, guys.

I decided to give her back her team color, but I wanted it to look darker, and this is what I came up with. Tell me what you think. Should I cut off the team color again, give it back its former transparency (a lot brighter), keep it like this or something between all this?

First off, I'm not trying to be mean or anything but I honestly dont see anything different other than it being in black and white. Second, that reference pic is monochromatic because its a pencil or pen or whatever drawing. Drow still have color... My suggestions would be that anything you do from this point on be freehand. I say give her lots of brown, purple, teal, and little bits of silver. (all somewhat dark shades) Her skin can be navy blue, but grey works out fine. Just keep in mind that just cause it's grey doesnt mean it cant have any color in it. If you look at some blizz skins, such as the mountain king avatar, you'll notice that there are colors in it, they are just less noticable. So instead of only using grey as skin, slightly shade it blue or something.

Hmmm... Actually, you ARE right. Drows are majorly grey/black, but they have some hues. But just to show you that image wasn't greyscale, here is another reference pic (if i'm not mistaken, it is from a Wizards of the Coast book):

Damn, that will be hard to do... I think I will keep the skin tone for now, but what do you suggest me to do with the clothes and stuff? I'm not exactly an excelent drawer, but I can try to do something about it. Should I elaborate more the clothes or just change the colors? The main problem here is that I am used to the "stereotipical drow", so my immagination isn't really cooperating. Any ideas?

Btw, thanks for the feedback Meesh.

drow elves are indeed dark elves in some myths.

its all down to a matter of opinion but they are usually back/silverish.

what i think needs to be done to this skin, is make some freehand clothes (so it isnt jsut a recolour) either chains or leather and robes etc.

the lighting on the skin is ok,

also change the face so it looks different to the shandris model if that is what you used.

Use Your imagination.

youll find if you change the skin of the model entirely you'll get better replys and comments.

hope to see your progress later on.

cheers,

Hmmm... I'll get to it right now! This chains/leather ideas really have helped, thanks! Now all I need to do is learn how to do some decent chain patterns, but I guss it should be too difficult. Thanks a lot, Son of Impurity!

I started to add color to her, and this is what I'm doing. Tell me if I'm in the right path, and if I should change anything. I decided to make the eyes red, so I made a portrait screenie.

The red on the cloak is team color. Hmmm... I think she was sexier before I covered herwhole chest, and I don't really like this blue, should I put some other color?

i think you should color her first, then post pics. because its hard to say if anything looks good in this state.

the skin should be pale blue, and white. or gray, like this but with more shading.
the whole thing should be dark *points at reference pic* like this.
but dont overdo it, or it might turn into a dark blob in-game.

Gotcha. Will try to do it. But doing that will take more time to post screenies. But it's better to post a more complete work, I guess.
