Campaign: Survivors of the Cataclysm

Introduction

We are currently looking for a terrainer for our campaign "Survivors of the Cataclysm". This is a campaign we started 1-2 months ago.
It takes place on Draenor, right after the Cataclysm, and tells the story of the Fel Orcs.

Story

At the end of the third war, Ner'zhul opened multiple portals to other dimensions. However, the portals energies were too much for Draenor to handle. When he left, he left Draenor dying. It was ripped apart. This event would later be called the Cataclysm.

In the midsts of the chaos, upon the open seas, ogre warlord Kartaras and his elite are on their way to join in the battle against the humans. Among them is Bonethirst, Kartaras' most trusted warrior and respected blademaster. The huge tidal waves caused by the cataclysm sink their ship, killing everyone on it except Bonethirst, who somehow manages to get to shore.

You follow the blademaster Bonethirst. He wakes up after the Cataclysm in the dead world. He soon finds other orcs, and together they struggle to survive. But they have plenty of enemies, and their lust for battle seems to be fading. Just when they are at their darkest hour, the pit lord Magtheridon comes along. He promises life and power to the Orcs.

But Magtheridon is not sure if the Orcs are worth his effort. They betrayed the legion by aiding Ner'zhul and his cause. He offers them a last chance to prove their loyalty and strength.
There are many dangers standing in the way of the Orcs redemption. The Draenei, who hid beneath the surface and who the Orcs thought were exctinct are drawn out by the Cataclysm. Their hate for the Orcs and what they have done to the world has grown endless. The Undead also want to claim Draenor. Those who didn't survive the Cataclysm have been raised by Teron Gorefiend and his Death Knights, who hold Draenor in a tight grip...

Current team

The current team consists of Varulf, who is responsible for the story, the dialogues, some terrain and the cinematics; Juice_f, who makes the skins; and me, who makes the spells, some terrain and the AI scripts.

Work done so far

* The general campaign outline
* 5 new spells, together with new icons
* The terrains of the two first maps
* The Draenei techtree + 4 AI scripts
* Thor's skin - A Hero in the campaign

Job openings
We need terrainers the most: one that can make something out of the Outland tileset. Of course, we always accept ideas, suggestions and feedback.

...it has been a while since I cannot comment on a team gathering thread... or I'm just tired.

On a side note, WW. did Dorelian and I delete this thread during the movement by accident? I can remember a name similar to this - can't remember anything more than the story though.
If we did, my humble apologies then. While I was responsible for moving the threads, I only moved the somewhat active ones and didn't really bother to look further than that. Like you had on the moment of this thread, I had a slow connection at that time so it was a pain to go through every thread.

Sounds really good.

Just to point out... you should definately include Rend and Maim. They become Fel Orcs if I remember correctly and you fight them. Their addition will add a major element of Warcraft story to your campaign.

Also, as allies in a small level or something add other blademasters you fight in the Blood Elf campaign.

Great idea. I'd help out but the Outland tileset isnt easy to work with in my opinion so i cant help.

Bonethirst is the blademaster that defends Magtheridon in the blood elf campaign. The campaign also includes Mizgill, and we have thought about ways to implent Rend and Maim.

Oh, the Outland tile isn't hard at all! It's easy! It's making the maps look different that's the tricky part, but different terrainers have their own style, so that shouldn't be a problem either.

I'm willing to help, but I haven't worked with Outland much. But don't worry, I'm very meticulous, so you'll have great looking maps!

Oh, and about the story, I'm not sure about this, but weren't some of the Alliance troops stranded on Draenor as well? I just kept expecting them to pop up in the Blood Elf campaign.

Actually, the human expedition escaped the cataclysm by entering one of the portals. just like ner'zhul did i believe.

So they wouldnt fit in.

You could have Rend and Maim sa leaders of some enemy clan in a cinematic that Bonethirst evades or something. Just an idea.

Great! Come over to our forum, and we'll find you some work to do! Do you have any screenshots of previous maps you've terrained?

The humans are in the campaign... or atleast their dead bodies. Those who didn't escape died in the cataclysm and those who survived were killed by and raised as undead. There are some living humans in the prologue, though.

Welcome to the team, FT!

Anyone else?

Here are a few shots of an elven city I'm working on. Still WIP, but I think it's coming out quite nice.

He's directing it to a reply, not a thread, therefore it doesn't work. I am not sure if it is directed to a post of an other thread since I am quite unfamiliar with it in general ;) Regardless, I read it from the address bar ;)

In other words, just sparkle.
