Attention all story tellers, comics, and literature freaks!

Due to requests from you good people we are going to be moving the Fiction Archives inside of Concept Art into its own forum. This will allow for a more obvious location.

Many of you may not be aware that we even have this this forum so please take a look when you get a chance.

The new forum will be called "Stories Galore!". To check it out click here: http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forumdisplay.php?f=360

As a side note we here at campaigns are looking into doing something special for you but we need some help. Anyone that is REALLY talented at story lines, preferably of a comedic kind and knows the WC3 storyline REALLY well please PM me.

We are looking into doing a comic strip that would be at least weekly. We have the artist but if you feel you are up to it to draw it then please PM me also.

This strip would be based on wc3 characters as well as possibly people that are members.

Thanks for your attention!

Rod

That forum doesn't have a moderator at the moment. Is it still under your vision, Rod?

ATM there is no official moderator besides me. If you or someone else would like to step up to the plate please pm me or say so here and give reasons why you want to do this as well as why you would be good.

Thanks

Rod

I'm not exactly begging for it, but if no one wants to sign up after a while, I'm willing to hold it, temporarily or not.

As for reasons... uh...
Well, as for starters, I'm already the moderator of the Team Gathering forum and I am well known for being picky and known all around regarding stories.
But like I said, throw me there if no one wants to do it.

Your choice eventually.

Tsk tsk tsk Fladian. Why so modest? Just say it plain and simple like "Can I be moderator?" instead of all these damn talkarounds.

Am I dealing with a bunch of scientists, or am I just being plain obvious? :P

But seriously, no, I am not really asking for the position RightField. For all I would mind, you would get it :P
It remains a fact that the forum is still as dead as a rat that has been run over.

I would be interested in becoming the moderator of the fiction forums for many reasons.
  • I am very interested in writing.
  • I'm a fair person, or so I think...
  • I also have vast knowledge of being a moderator from being one on 35263526's website.

I have written a few stories, most of them not having to do with the WarCraft 3, but I have written a few histories for a few projects, and are quoted at the end of this thread.

I can also give very good feedback from growing up in a household were on of my parents was an English Major in which I got plenty of feedback on my writting, and helped improved my style.

Before the great sundering of the world, the Maligned were a demonic race of small magic casters. When the Burning Legion came the Maligned soon aligned themselves with the Burning Legion and grew to unspeakable powers. The Burning Legion was eventually pushed out and The Maligned were outnumbered. There soon became a bounty on the heads of the Maligned and a witch hunt erupted. It was soon ended by the destruction of the well of eternity and the Maligned took refuge deep in the caverns of Azeroth hoping to find the Elements from before the Titans had come and ruined everything.

The Maligned in their time underneath the planet's surface expanded an ever growing hatred for the Elves of the surface world and eventually amassed a liking for the caverns. For thousands of years The Maligned searched for the Elementals of yore and eventually found one. They strengthened the Elemental and soon had a very powerful ally, they saw this as a great time to launch an attack on the Elves of the surface world.

By this point in time the world was no longer in the single land mass that the Maligned had known it as, and also now the Elves were not the only ones to worry about-scouts had told them of hideous creatures called Humans and Dwarves. The Maligned decided this not the best time to attack and stayed underground longer waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

That moment finally came, when the Orcs came through the twisting nether. They quickly allied with these new creatures that shared many common ideas with them. The Maligned soon realized that the Demons had helped these Orcs, and that if they could get to the Orc's Demonic masters, then the Maligned could reunite with the Demon Lords. Before the Maligned found their masters they wanted to prove their worth and attack an Elven city. By this point their elemental had grown restless, it had started attacking The Maligned, and they had to pull the elemental back underground before any attack could be made to regain control over it. The Maligned soon heard the news of the Destruction of the Orcish lands and decided that this was not the best time to attack.

Eventually everything calmed down and The Maligned watched as the Humans and other races broke their alliances, this was their chance they could finally smite their long-hated enemies and the Legion would come back and help. They rallied themselves and attacked the Human city of Dalaran, when they got their they saw no Humans in sight. They fought the Scourge and captured Dalaran easily. After thousands of years underground The Maligned finally had their own place to call their own. With the great libraries of Dalaran they were suprised to see how much the World had changed but found where their enemies were - Kalimdor…..

And here is a link to a differant story I posted here

JetPack,

Writing, not writting, their, not they're. Sigh. :)

The story you quoted is above average, but personally I like stories that have nothing to do with the WC3 universe and yours fully relies on WC3's story. Also, Maligned.. hmm, Maligned, Maledictum, Maligned, Maledictum, Dawn of War ?

Dorelian, even though I am not very fond on the Warcraft stories either - what I clearly showed in the Team Gathering forum :P - it is a 'must' in the fiction archives forum (or story galore, whichever you prefer).

According to one of the stickies out there, it is mentioning that it is necessary that it only has to do with Warcraft and nothing else. That's why I didn't make any further move, since like I said, "I'm not too fond on it".

I must've missed that part. Anyway, fix the spelling mistakes and you have a decent story.

To confirm it. It was the first sentence from the sticky :P (how in the world could you miss it? :P)

I do not see those mistakes in any of my writting after looking over it, and if you looked at my other story you would notice it has nothing to do with the WarCraft universe what so ever.

I have no idea what you are taking about with the word maligned it is a word, that was part of a history that I had to write for some one else, I don't personally like the name of the race it is based upon but it wasn't my decision.

I'll try to show some other work that you might like, I just assumed that WarCraft 3 based stories would be more liked on a WarCraft 3 modding site, I was wrong.

Also, I don't try to make all my posts 100% perfect as that would take forever and waste my time, my stories on the other hand are, or should be free of all mistakes.

It was to be expected that WCIII stories would be most liked here. But while we're still at the Site Discussion sub-forum, we have to remember that we are dealing with less than usual... regarding those who like WCIII stories that is.

If you are able to write perfect stories, then you shouldn't even be bothered by writing perfect in a normal post. It doesn't really depend on how much attention you give to it, it just depends on your normal reaction and knowledge.
