Guest | This might just be me... Anyways, I got interested in modelling for WC3 when blizzard released the art tools, and learned how to model. I went up through animations, and at this point I could make a semi-humanoid figure from the ground up, and make him breakdance- as long as he's the default texture color :( Problem is, I can't seem to unfold, unwrap, flatten my model worth anything. By the time It's done, it's ALWAYS a jumbled pile of edges, of which I can make absolutely no sense. I've tried everything logically possible... made sure it was only half a model, then squishing it, or separating it into parts... either way, I've gotten pretty well used to the whole thing except this and it's the only thing stopping me. I've been using Chilli Skinner recently, but I got it after the site went down, and can't find a tutorial for it. Before that, i was using the default UVW editor for gmax and this other utility, neither of which helped much. Whenever i say to unfold something, it says it'll be distorted; it doesn't lie. Anyways... I'd really appreciate a pointing in the right direction :(. I'll be able to make the textures themselves, and the models, but I can't put the texture on the model., or get a basic diagram of what to draw on. I know it must be possible, it turns into a vague outline, where you can see the eyes, nose, mouth etc. and are able to draw on it. Ok, sorry for rambling. Thanks! Aorion |
