Guild Wars Journal: Hall Of Heroes, The story of one hero

It was a Beta weekend like any other. I started up Guild Wars and decided to make myself a new character.
Since I seemed to like the elemental powers so much I decided that as my first class, as for my second class,
the monk class seemed very useful for keeping myself and others alive in the heat of battle. After choosing I decided to start out at level 20 to just play around, help fellow guild members and help others pass the missions. Throughout that day I played many missions with joy, seeing the happy faces on those I had helped was great. I decided that I should tune into my guilds TeamSpeak channel and see what was up only to find our guild slowly losing a match in the Hall of Heroes. As they lost I asked them where I could meet them in hopes of seeing the Hall of Heroes for the first time.

We met in Tombs of Primeval Kings district 1. They had been down to 6 players as two members had left, so I joined. We waited only a minute before the next guild member came and joined in to start up the match. As I finally loaded after two minutes of waiting, I came immediately to the aid of fellow guild members who had lost health. We worked as a team and fought foe after foe, carefully calculating our next move.

Our leader Cain decided to head off on his own to kill the priest of one of our foes, and unknown to him I followed not far away. We both started attacking the priest and I healed Cain as the enemies drew close and attacked. Soon our guild was behind us backing both of us up as we took the priests last hit point away. We fell back to base and held off our foes to their last man fell to the ground in defeat. After two or three more matches such as this we finally arrived in this massive place that looked like a palace. It was only the entrance to the Hall of Heroes, but it was still impressive. Our main objective was to stop the other team from taking our relics.

We fought hard and long against the team, working together to back each other up, and we finally got one relic of theirs to barely clinch victory. The next match we finally entered the Hall of Heroes to take on the current holder of the HoH. We fought hard as all three teams clashed together to see who would become the next Hall of Heroes holder, and after a hard 20 minutes of battling, we finally took our place amongst as the victors. After a few hard and easy victories we came to a big challenge.

The timer ticked down to zero, we grabbed our hero and took control of the center while four teams quickly became two. They came rushing down the stairs holding their weapons high, charging at us as we prepared for the battle ahead. It wasn't long before ALL of my dear team mates were taken out. Our ghostly hero and I were the only ones left on our side. As the two teams each fought hard to gain control of the center, fighting both themselves and our hero, I stood far to the side on a staircase healing our hero with all my might. I looked at the timer as I healed him; we had one minute until my team would resurrect.

That one minute seemed like an eternity as I barely kept myself and our hero alive. Seconds dwindled down. Only 10 more seconds and my team would resurrect. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.... My team rose from the ashes to hit both teams hard as I fell to my knees in defeat from the attacks. As I lay motionless watching my team fight hard, the last enemy fell to a hit from my team.

We were victorious, but only one true hero emerged in that round. I was congratulated by all of my teammates for keeping our hero alive. Most had assumed the match lost, thinking I had perished like all the others. That has to have been my finest moment in Guild Wars, fighting to help keep our place in the Hall of Heroes, and hearing over TeamSpeak the others congratulating me with much excitement. We may not have lasted many hours in the Hall of Heroes before our defeat, but no one could forget my heroic actions that just barely won us that match. The End

yes very exciting, teamspeak does make a difference in alot of PVP games
