Give item to unit?

I cannot seem to find out how I can give a item to a unit, not a hero but a normal unit.

1) Give the unit an inventory

2) Use the action create item for hero, targetting that unit. works anyways, even though you wouldn't think it would.

use Hero - Give "Item" to "Unit" (with an inventory)

it WILL work. 110% sure about this...
