Guest | Well I'm back into Warcraft and I've got a new project ready to be helped in. It's a campaign as the title reveals, and again, the title tells you what its about. :\ The campaign has all the object data ready, and I have no real trigger requirements as it is no MASSIVE map RPG style which will take months. It is to be a good, detailed but not exaggerated campaign. To the point of course: Campaign starts with the story of Warcraft I. A few levels switching back and forth from Orcs to Humans doing missions following the Warcraft story. Then you move on to the Warcraft II part after you defeat Azeroth with Orcs and escape with Humans. You just basically do the vital missions in the Warcraft II Tides of Darkness game. Among them killing Cho'gall and leaving Gul'dan to die in the Tomb of Sargeras to finally destroying the Dark Portal. Then we move on to the Beyond the Dark Portal part. Here is my only problem. I never played Beyond the Dark Portal. I know the characters, and the ending. Still I've got no idea of how to make those few levels revolving around. I mean sure, we got heroes like Khadgar and Danath but I'm not sure what to make their roles be. So we will make a large campaign, fit Warcraft I and II into it and these are the positions to be filled in: Idea Giver - Tells me what I could do about the Beyond the Dark Portal bit. Co-Producer - Does basics in helping out in creation and fills in when I'm not around. Terrainer - Spice up the landscapes Triggerer- Can but in when necessary to correct mistakes Last Ditch - Some basics |

Timothor, I didn't expect to see you back here. I thought I scared you off for good. :P Hey, at least I can't forget your name. With two little changes, you got the same name as my former shampoo :P Anyway... Maybe you should be somewhat less ambitious? There are active projects from long ago that are still working on a Warcraft I or II campaign - and you are planning of starting a project that is doing them both? Sounds quite big to me. Using only critical levels will surely shorten it a bit, but it'll remain TOO long. You should know that well enough. Sparkle~ -Fladian |

Guest | :god_help_us: Nah you didnt scare me off. I just quit Warcraft for a while to play sum other games. You know, Rome Total War, Battle for Middle-Earth etc... Still Warcraft is just so good for map making im back. Anyway: I realise there are other projects of Warcraft I and II but I'm doing a 'brdiged' version basically. As i stated above for those of you interested, I just want to file together major events all in one. No small details. Cinematics of the flight of Ner'zhul through the portals, Medivh's death when he was evil, Gul'dan's death and other events. Of course I will link them together with cinematics explaining events inbetween. If MUST be Ill seperate everything into two campaings, but I think I'll make it. As I said I dont really have much to worry about, I got all object data ready and I just thought I might share my ideas and share the fun. All feel free to simply post some ideas I'd appreciate. Lorien War Team never fell through really, I just quit Warcraft altogether at the time. Just to let ya know. |

Guest | Glad to hear! You can act as both, fill in when appropriate. Well we need, first off, to organize how we will place out levels. This is what I had in mind so far and I nearly started on my own. Been waitin for people to join so we can all agree together. Anyway: 1. Interlude: The Opening of the Dark Portal (First images of Draenei slaughter. Then a bit of Gul'dan stuff, Kil'jaeden and Medivh. Open Dark Portal and orcs go through. Raid a farm and so on bla bla you get my point )2. Part 1: Defense of Stormwind (As Warcraft history states, Cho'gall and Kilrogg Deadeye led the first major attack. You play as Humans in this mission and just do some carnage to Orc bases. Your hero during Warcraft I will be Lothar.) 3. Part 2: Dead Mines (Command Humans, rescue Anduin Lothar and once you win and leave cinematics of Orcs entering and killing Griselda and Turok.) 4. Part 3: Medivh's Tower (Kill Medivh and go through his tower destroying his dark minions) 5. Part 4: Orgrim's Betrayal (Command Orgrim Doomhammer, and destroy Gul'dan's puppet Blackhand to assume command of the Horde!) 6. Part 5: Fall of Azeroth (Command Orcs and lead final attack on Stormwind. Then some cinematics and stuff of Lothar and the exodus...) 7. Part 6: Zuljin's Rescue (Cinematics explaining the Alliance and the events after exodus then you must play for a bit. Our Trollish rogue, Zuljin, is captured by humans and elves. Command Orcs and rescue him then lead him to jis village. After a short cinematic of the Quel'thalas elves that were captured rescued by Alliance.) 8. Part 7: Runestone (Protect the Runestone. Once you win some cinematics of the Runestone's capture and the Ogre-Magi as a result.) 9. Part 8: Gul'dan's Betrayal (Info events after Runestone. Then Gul'dan and Cho'gall betray the Horde and lead expedition to the sunken ruins; raised by Gul'dan. Then level begins and you control Gul'dan, Cho'gall and Drak'thul. Stop the first waves of the vengeful Orgrim and finally lead Gul'dan to the Tomb of Sargeras. Once you win and lead Gul'dan to the Tomb cinematics of the defeat of the Stormreaver Clan and Twilight's Hammer Clan. We know what happened to Gul'dan...) 10. Part 9: Betrayal of Alterac (Control the Alliance. Destroy Alterac for its betrayal.) 11. Part 10: Blackrock Spire (Final assault on Blackrock Spire! Command Lothar, Turalyon etc... stop the Orcish Horde and take the battle to the Dark Portal and close it!) 12. Part 11: Re-Opening the Dark Portal (Dark Portal opens and kill some orcs...) 13. Part 12: Destruction of Draenor (Close the Dark Portal once more in Draenor and booom.) Obviously there are more levels I must fit in but I dont know if there is space on the menu... I definately want to include commanding Ner'zhul and Dentarg against the Thunderlord Clan, Laughing Skull and those other rivals. Well see... |

Doesn't a project like this already exist? Just wondering and asking, no offence. |
| 02-26-2005, 10:26 PM | #8 |
If I recall right, yes, there was supposed to be one like this already. Regardless, a project like this is impossible to stop, in opposite of most other projects. *yawn* |

:( I don't like mods that are based on the same Princip... But what can you do :( (by the way this doesn't mean that I don't think your idea is great |

I'm not fond on it either. I am not fond on any project that is based on existing histories, which I include movies, books, anime, games and anything similar. But even though I, and some others may dislike it, it cannot be stopped, and it'll keep coming. Regardless, I'm not sure if it is still alive. |

I would like to help making terrain. Im good at it. Like the idea. And by the way i think the other War1 and War2 projects are abandoned. and theyre not in progress. |

Well if they are abandoned then... I think that the project isnt unessecary (by the way never thought so...:) ) So good luck! -- Dark Acopalypz |
