I'm trying to get this moonglade-ish piece of terrain looking right for a scene in my cinematic, but It's just not looking the way I want it to. Its a bit plain among other things, I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on it. |

It needs tile variation, the grass looks like carpet. Add some more logs near the shore, some tree stumps, some rocks near the shore, and mushrooms, it needs mushrooms near the trees, also it looks a bit flat on the front, raise or lower a bit to give it a more realistic feel. What I ususlly do is add lots of shrubs near the trees, then add flowers around that, the effect is nice. Hope that helps ;) |

Tile variation. Try grassy dirt, it's my favorite - it looks nice and blends with practically every other woodland tile! Plus, put some 'shrooms. |

Guest | Quite nice, I like it. the only complaint I really have is that the ground looks a bit like, well, artificial - carpet-like. Adding a slight variation in tiles to this will be nice, but also perhaps some gentle rolls - by that I mean some slight raise/lower terrain to form a gentle rolling effect - could be nice - it would help sort out the carpet look. |

my rare post on wc3c! LOL anyways, not bad, needs more tile variation, the trees in the water look kinda wierd, imo, i also dont like the skin on those trees, too bright, next, you could use more bushes aroun here and there, not too many of coarse, and by the trees, maybe a dead log somewere -Murcielago) |

You might also want to add the Rays of Moonlight weather effect to it. If you want a moonglade-ish thing. |

looks good, i esspecialy like the 3 abre trees in the water. i think more tile variation is essential in this cae, for example. id like to see that slope behing to water to be mostly rock, and what kind of effect that gives. also, you appear to have used the sunken ruins dark grass. i think it could look mnuch better with a mix of thick grass, lumpy grass, and normal ruins grass. you may also wish to add more environmental doodads, what i see so far is good, but i think adding some rocks could make this terrain a little better. i think the flower model looks out of place (but ive always hated the flower model). you could try viney plants, with just a few flowers placed inside them |

Well, the problem with those other grass tiles, is most of them are either too light, or too not-green. Lumpy grass looks downright brown when I use it there, and I'm out of tile-space to add more tiles. (Map includes CityScape and Icecrown city tiles for other scenes) Tile variation would probably make it look better, the problem is that I simply don't have any more tiles to work with, and anything more than a few spots of Fallen Leaves tile looks kinda dumb. No, I need a solution besides tile variation... Edit- The tiles in forground and background under the flowers that look like dirt and rock... That is the Lumpy Grass tile. You see my problem? |

in that case, add grass turf doodads, and maybe some leaves under it -Murcielago) |

if you have winmpq and photoshop then you might want to try recoulering some terrain tiles. for example you could take the lumpy grass and make it a more intence green couler, or possably make it a slightly blue couler for a more magical NE feel. with recoulering terrain tiles, you can use pretty much any tile. for example, you could take the sunken ruins stone slabs tile, and recouler it to be darker, less yellow, and more green. or you could do the same to any cityscape or darleran tiles |
