trojan horse, holy ..., dude maybe you need a better anti virus program. I dl lots of stuff and i have mcAfree and SpySweeper that runs everytime i open the computer perhaps C drive is full of memory? because i believe D Drive has more memory and that C drive is part of where the important file systems are, so maybe installing/moving it to D drive would help i would believe that the trojan is inside C drive, by da way,i realized that the code for : and \ together got turned into :\ |

ive got 13 gig left on C, as i cleared a load of stuff off so rise of nations would work (and it still dosnt). that should be enough shouldnt it? |

That means RAM is all gone, likely from the trojan running a bunch of programs in the background, first of all, u need to get rid of the trojan, get McAffee, for me, it instantly finds the virus when it comes in, and deletes, however that is not anought, adware will already be running, thus u also need a good anti adware, also check the system to see how many things are running, rebooting also helps in some cases. but more importantly get rid of the virus, also what browser are you using? IE? -Murcielago) |

ive only just bought norton system works, and i dont have the money for another anti virus program. ive also found that i cant tint doodads with WE, i cant open any mapsd not created by this WE (meaning i cant open any old maps since i reinstalled wc3, and i cant view any maps i get sent. and every time i save i get what looks like a trigger error. i tried checking which systems were takeing up the most ram, but i cant even open the windows task manager now [edit] it turns out i can see the task manager, but it takes 5 mins to load. of all the programs that are takeing up memory, ive listed the highest; internet explorer emule itunes svchost.exe (im not sure what this, but as it appears twice. once as a system and one as a netwrok servace i assume its just the softwear for the network) ccapp.exe (i dont know exactly what this is, but im told its system works) explorer.exe (12000k, is that normal?) worldedit.exe msnmsge.exe i cant see anyhting here out of the ordinary, but then, i know fuck all about computers |

humm all i have left to say is....get rid of norton.....it just plain sucks....i installend it... it fucked my pc over, i had to re-install windows....so yeah it sucks...you can dl AVG its free, works better than norton, but McAfee works even better. My explorer is at 14k atm, and cpu running way to high for my liking, im going to ren adware and antivirus -Murcielago) |

ill try and get mcafree, but even if i can, itll probably be a old version. im not too bothered if norton fucks up windows as my version of windows is ripped, and as a result, i cant use the servace packs, meaning XP srews itsself up all the time and cant fix itself. hopefully soon ill be moveing over to linux |

also, don't just look for programs that take up memory. anything with a suspicious name. like, i have a program running called twink64.exe which sets a web page advertising a spyware removal program as my desktop (ironic that spyware would advertise a spyware removal program). just anything that sounds suspicious. for anti virus programs, go to www.download.com and just search for anti virus. i'm using norton and i did use avast! antivirus for a while. cleaned up my viruses pretty well. |

Your problem is definitely not lack of RAM. The World Editor just says that but it's not the real reason. This message pops up if some file in the map archive is fucked up and for example shows a wrong length value. Example: If 2 bytes in the w3a file (ability file) were missing, it would make 65536 out of 1 as an example. Now if you had 1 custom ability in your map, with the fucked up byte, the World Editor will think it's 65536 abilities and say it doesn't have enough memory to do the job before it even tries to load. Now the problem could be in any file, maybe the imp file, as you only experience it with imported models. PS: Sure, you should get rid of the trojans but they're not the reason for your troubles. |

im not sure if its corrupted maps or not, but i belive its not. as ive tried opening maps with custom models from my old computer, they dont work. maps from my old computer with no customs still seem to open correctly. any maps ive made since i installed WE on this computer can be opened, includeing ones with custom models. and any maps ive recived from anyone else wont open. also, i dont have any custom abilities in any of my maps, im not sure if any other areas could cause me problems, but my maps are purely made for terrain and only contain custom doodads, no abilities or triggers of any kind |
