Alright, for a small project im working on I have the camera set very high above the terrain in birds-eye-view. Everything looks good when you view the camera angle from the WE, but when you apply the same camera ingame, the terrain and units is darkened quite a bit. Its obvious this is a default setting for a realistic effect, however for my map it is crucuial to be able to clearly see the terrain/units/doodads. Any clue as to how to adjust this? Maybe a BLP that is used for the effect that I could simply alpha out? I really cant think of any way to do this (Although its most likely so obvious that I dont see it :\ .), so if you have an idea I would really apreciate it. Thanks. |

maybe turn off fog of war or look in the game options etc. for field of view settings? |

Im afraid not. Fog of war and black mask are already off, and Im unable to locate any other possible options/settings. |

Guest | Hmmm it might have something to do with their shadows! But i'm not an expert with shadows so for all i know cows walking backwards spitting nickels would be closer =) |

As a backup, I would certainly check for backwards cows. That sounds like it's close to the case. Plus, I'm short of change. |

Heh, alas I am still dealing with this issue...Anyone else know what to do? Heres how it looks. Top is the in-game view. Bottem is the WE view. They SHOULD look the same....however they clearly do not. |

What sort of camera settings are you using to bring it out that far? Camera objects have a set distance from the camera where they stop rendering, I assume in order to prevent lag during cines from loading too many objects. |

See for yourself. No other triggers effect the camera or visibility. |

Yea, your FarZ looks fine. Sorry, bud, got no more ideas. |

Actually I've dealt with much the same thing in my own map. I wanted to have the camera far enough out so that you could see the entire map. I figured out on my own that this is impossible. You can, however, change the distance to a reasonable height without that many ill effects. Set the Far Z or something like that to 10k. It shouldn't change your camera's position. Now, in the editor, turn on Game View Settings(should be Ctrl+Shift+C, check the view menu) On the map now, you will be able to see the fading as it appeards in game. Zoom the camera in until it becomes bright enough to play by, then click on the camera palette "Set camera to curent view". It isn't perfect, but lets you get the maximum distance and shading that you can deal with. If you zoom too far out, you will only be able to see blackness, save for the crashing waves on the cliffs(kinda neat effect really). |
