WT 30: Desecration of Nature

01-29-2005, 01:59 PM#1
muldav
Throughout the course of evolution, humans, orcs, goblins, night elves or any other civilization has been utilizing the forests and the nature to gain new areas to fuel their growing needs. This resulted in the wild nature retreating.

This WT dares you all to show the world how this desecration of the untouched mother nature manifests itself.

There is no limit to what tiles you should use in this WT.

Scenes terrained could be; forests burning, fields of grain being planted instead of trees or even the taming of wild rivers using dams.

Good luck!

@Jetpack looking decent, fog seems a bit too heavy and is a bit plain as of now. Dunno if its WIP or what though.

@Ngetal Looks decent, wouldn't be my first tileset choice but oh well. Btw try to get rid of selection circles in screenshots

Ngetal that looks really good, I really like the green blight poison on top of the water.

My first entry was very empty because I didn't have a good concept behind it, now I do so I filled in the picture some more and toned down the fog some.

Jetpack why dont'you make that see or lake a river instead? The idea is very good but it still needs a "frame" i think. Why would they build those buildings on that little island in the vast ocean? But if it were a rivercurve around a peninsula, you could add more forest and cut-down trees for a more horrifying view. Like the look af an bandoned woodcutter-village or something...

I finally finished my terrain. It's a Strip Mine made by goblins. I was going for a bleak, almost dreary, atmosphere. Wanted it to seem sad.

Jetpack, I like it, but it seems a little empty.
(like mine...)

KrewL RaiN, nice. I really like the factory.

Ngetal, make your water a little more green. Right now it looks like poison gas.

zer0-, your mountains are a little spikey. Try to smoot them a little.

Gitlitch, well...yours is a WIP. I'll critique later when its done.
