Im using 3dsm6 and I dont know how to attach things together eg. body part to body part can someone help ?

You dont "attach" body parts together. You build almost the entire model in one. But what you can do, is weld the vertices together:
Toggle on vertec subobject mode thingie on, choose the vertices you want welded. Bring them close together if they arent. And press the "selected" button in the weld panel. You might wanna increase the number at the right..

In vertex mode, scroll down untill you see attach. The object you then select will be attached to the object you already selected.

Np.. Yeah, sorry. If the parts are seperate objects, then attach and weld
