Create steam effects and smoke effects.

Hi, i am using GMax and i am wondering how to create smoke or seam effects on a model.. how to do that? and if a specific program is required please give me a link on where i can get that program!

last time i checked, there cant be any special effect things in gMAX

well you can always use 3dsmax trial version for some effects, i nvr done that b4 cuz none of my models need effects
