Question About Model Animations

hi, i was wondering if it was possible to take an animation away and then add a new one. of if u use the animation transfer program does it just overide the animation u wanted to remove. for example. if u wante the bloodmage to attack like the demon hunter , and u add the demon hunters animations for attack, does it overide the bloodmages attack animations. sorry if this sounds confusing. i need feed back thx. :god_help_us: :god_help_us: :god_help_us: :god_help_us:

no, it just sticks it on the end. to remove the ones you dont want, just go into the mdl and delete the anim set that you dont want. then save it, reconvert to mdx, and there you are.

is that good or do you want me to go into further detail? im on my way out, or else id better describe the process for you.

yea, open the mdl in notepad. once you get it open, find the animation that you want to remove.

we'll use
Code:
Anim "Attack"

highlight everything in that anim set. it looks like this.

Code:
	Anim "Stand - 1" {
		Interval { 14000, 18667 },
		Rarity 5,
		MinimumExtent { -139.605, -139.517, -11.1663 },
		MaximumExtent { 131.092, 131.18, 194.172 },
		BoundsRadius 210.714,
	}

stop after the last braket on the line above the next anim. press delete, then adjust the lines of code so that the gap between the first anim last line and second anim first line. in other words, there needs to be a } and then the line after that should always start with the next anim title.

then reconvert with yobguls to mdx. you have yobguls, right?

have fun.

well so far so good. again let me thank u for ur time u have been wonderful. but i have come to another dilema. so far, i have been able to transfer all the animations i want on all the basic blizz models, and even the custom ones. like i made a blood mage with 2 samuria swords attacking with fire pandas animatinos. well heres where the problem is. have u seen the latest sephiroth model , its on this site. it looks fantastic, but the animations are a little weird. i have tried countless times to edit the animations , but they just don't show. i don't know what to do. is there anyway to add animations to this model, if possible, i would like the walking animations of the demon hunter, and then attacking animations of the blademaster. maybe u can help me, i have no one else to turn to. anyway if u can help, this is where u can obtain the model

ty in advance

you cant change the animations because the bones are named differently than generic wc3 models. see, bones are put in a model, the 'skin' of the model is attached to that bone, and the bone is used to animate the model. and what the anim transfer tool does is switch how those bones move. if the program doesnt find the bone that it needs, that section is left alone and when reconverted to mdx, doesnt move.

thats why your model doesnt move...

Name the bones in Seph exactly like the WC3 ones.

so i suppose the seph model is not possible to animate unless i change the bones themselves, which i have no idea what to do. if anyone out there could possibly do this i would greatly appreciate it. anyway thx for all ur help flame

oh flamy its ok, u have done more than enough for me. but if anyone out there wants to take a crack at it i would be very happy. im sure this model with the new animations could benefit the community as well, since ive heard so many ppl complain about the animations . :god_help_us:

ok everyone , i think i found someone to do the seph request. cyberdragon i think has kindly accepted the offer . so as soon as its done, it will be public, i think this will be a big change from the original seph model with the weird animations.
