Is there really now way to import .MDX into gmax???

So there is no way to import .MDX into gmax right, or am i wrong?

no you can still use the import script for 3ds max, as well as gmax, as far as i know

and where can i get it?

heres three different import export programs... add them to your script folder in gmax try em out. i rarely ever import wc models into modelling programs since i usually make models from scratch so i really dont know that much about using these properly.

ummm....make sure you use winrar to unzip these files, atleast i think thats what you meen by wrong file types.

Like alreadyused said, just open the script, then you get a dropdown box saying mdx im/exporter or something. Select that and some new options come, click on import mdx and import your model.

And make sure you use winrar, NOT winzip like most people do.

Sure it works for GMax? And if so what version?

Im running GMax 1.2.
When i do a MAXScript>Run Script and select any of those 3 .mse files it doesnt do anything...

The 3 attached files download fine for me, with a filesize and everything, ruling out any possiblity of "empty" attachments. However, as mentioned before, they fail to un-rar. I am using the latest version of WINRAR...

Any ideas as to what's wrong?

EDIT: ok, I found working copies of impexpmdx.rar and MDXimporter.rar using Google. I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing, but I went to MAXScript > opened the .mse file of each, and none of them work (well, nothing happens, but did it "work" and I don't know it?).. Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT 2: OK I found the dropdown thing in the Utilities menu or whatever, but now I'm wondering.. where do I find the MDX files so I can Import them? I can't find them in any directory.

EDIT 3: ok i think i get it now... I need to open the MPQ file with another program, extract the MDX files I want using that, and then open the MDX with GMAX...

I'm getting an error when trying to export the MDX file from gmax, when using impexpmdx.mse...

You can't export with Gmax. Discreet disabled this function when they released gmax.

Does anyone have a link to the so called "Dex' Exporter script"? Supposedly it lets you convert .gmax files into mdl/mdx formats.
