Hi all, I'm hoping to get some custom mini-map pings in my CTF map, but I haven't been able to get it to work. I'm trying to use the information from this thread but it's just not happening for me. I'm having the same problem a lot of people are having, where part of the ping just disappears. Has anyone ever got a custom ping to work correctly? Thanks for any help. |

Well, i haven't gotten it to work correctly myself (never tried), but i have seen custom pings work before. Night of the Dead II has custom pings that work fine it seems, but it's protected and both authors seem to have dropped off the face of the earth. Sorry. |

I've worked on this quite a bit, and I've actually made some progress to a point I'm semi-happy with. I've still been following the instructions in Doca-Cola's thread - but I've been using a different method of converting my .tga filess into .blp files. More specifically, I'm using Gimp to create .tga files and then using Warcraft III Viewer to turn those into blps. This has been working to an extent, though it requires some workarounds. Incidentally, using Warcraft Image Extractor II in conjunction with Gimp was giving me the .blp files that did not work. Image Extractor had a difficult time reading Gimps tga files in the first place, though. In conclusion, I think I've got it working! |
